    Great vid! I am keen on the PR7 so enjoyed your vids and mods. In Australia we are waiting on a distributer to be finalized so can't see the bike in the flesh as yet hopefully soon. Ride safe Cheers

    Andrea Leobono That is awesome. I ride a 990 Adventure and the 220 km offroad range can be quite limiting in remote places.

    Interesting bike, thank you for sharing your experiences. That air filter does look suspicious, good to hear that a foam filter is in the works.

    The foam filter is currently in the post coming to me. It will make life a bit easier. You can at least squeeze the water out after you've rinsed it.

    Hi Rogier, just watched your 2 reviews of the bike.... Well, it does not really encourage me to get one. I'm hesitating with a 640 adventure, 701 enduro and PR7, but all those not so little issues are not so engaging to me. It could have been ok for a 2020 bike but I don't want to buy it new so I think I will end with a 701. Anyway, thanks for the sharing, it was very usefull for me.

    I can imagine you have your doubts. If I had known about the rear brake trying to kill me I would have not bought the bike. Nevertheless I own it and I'm pretty happy with it. You end up spending money on any bike eventually. Have you thought about the Honda CRF450L? Great bike. 640 or 701 also great. Lot's of aftermarket parts. Good luck with your decision making.

    @@joacerbis Yes I considered the CRF-L but whereas it seems great, it is really expensive for what it gives, they are very few on the used market and I'm still concerned with the servicing frequency.

    Hi Rogier! I love your content, I am waiting for the 2020 model of the PR7. I would like to ask about the fuel range of this thing at riding pace we saw in your videos in Marocco. Are you communicating with your dealer or directly with the factory about issues and spare parts requests?

  • @joacerbis

    @joacerbis

    4 жыл бұрын

    Thanks Nandi. The fuel range I calculate as follows: tank hold 17 liters of which you can realistically only use 16 liters. Depending on riding style you will consume between 4 and 5 liters per 100km. (16/4.5) * 100 = 355km. If you try to communicate with the factory they direct you back to the importer in your country. From your importer/dealer you should be able to get any parts or solve any (warranty) issues. Many engine parts except for the electronics and injection are Husqvarna parts from the old TE630 so those are easy to get anywhere.

    Appreciate your comments on the PR7. I had been searching the web for a comparison between the PR7 and the SWM Superdual. I don't know whether you have looked at both but, if so, would you mind giving your thoughts as to why you chose the AJP? It would be most useful. Thanks for the great videos.

  • @joacerbis

    I fell for the looks and great suspension components on the AJP. It would be great to try out the SWM. The X model with the 21" front wheel of course. Engine wise there shouldn't be too much difference. AJP do there own mapping and possibly manage a bit more power out of the engine. AJP has a nice bash plate, foot pegs. If you care for this depends on the kind of riding you intend to do. What is also important is the aftermarket parts available as well as factory support. On the AJP the rear brake is known to lock up. This has happened to me and many other riders. There has not been any recall. I have ripped the rear brake off and want to mount the Brembo brakes from the 2020 model. The 2020 model has been out for months but there is no 2020 parts list available, so I cannot order. You know what I mean. SWM may be better at this, I don't know. I will try to do a test ride on the SWM in the near future. Update: I asked the Dutch SWM distributor for a test ride on a SWM Superdual-X. They don't have one. So it will have to wait until an opportunity arises I'm afraid.

    Air filter looks similar to K&N so their cleaning kit should work, too

    How do you adjust speed sensor? My speedo always reads low.

  • @joacerbis

    @joacerbis

    2 жыл бұрын

    Sorry for this late reply. The speedo uses a sensor located in the front brake rotor. The factory has set the wheel circumference in the speedo, similar to what you'd do yourself when you get a simple bicycle speedo. I am sure they have made it hard for the user to change any settings in the speedo. Without being able to change the setting your only option would be to have an electronic device in between that adjusts the signal rate. They exist. By the way, my speedo was pretty accurate with knobby tires.

    and what tablet and tablet case do you use?

  • @joacerbis

    @joacerbis

    4 жыл бұрын

    The tablet is an ipad mini 4g. The case is an aiShell made by 'Andes Industries AG'. I plan to make a video on the topic of the tablet. In short: I only have the ipad on there to run one particular app called 'Rally Blitz'. I use it to practice road book riding. It's my electronic road book. If you look at position 3:10 in the video you can see that I have installed the rally blitz buttons and also a narrower 'Domino' indcator button unit. The iPad is not better or worse than the Samsung A6 tablet provided as standard. One improvement in my setup is that it uses a Ram Mount type 'C'. That way you can rotate the device in any position. It's also easy to take the whole thing off. Screen readability in bright sunlight is still my major issue with either tablet.
