Ajani is one of my two most hated Planeswalkers, and it's my own fault. My gf wanted to learn to play so i built her a mono white pony deck, after a while she wanted it to be more competitive and so i changed it into a lifegain and +1/+1 counter ramp deck with two different Ajani's; Goldmane and Steadfast. The avatar Goldmane creates is easy enough to deal with, but the emblem Steadfast makes has destroyed so many opportunities for me.

As a nonplayer of MTG, I had only seen art of the planeswalking lion-man and I've gotta apologize for underestimating him as a character. I had him pegged as a stereotypical brute, but his character is deeper than I had imagined.

Loved your video! Actually, Ajani holds a major place in my mind. He was one of the reasons I got into mtg. I almost quit when Dominaria United was released. I hated ....HATED what they did to him. So...some backstory my mom has had rheumatoid arthritis for 30+ years. 4 months before the story dropped my oarents told me she was diagnosed with kidney cancer. So, after that I took a deep dive in mtg to escape. Then the story dropped. What compleation is reminded me of how the cheonic disease affected my Mom and changed her from what I remember to a more...not what she should be. Seeing that happen with my major comfort character really shook me. I KNOW it was unhealthy, I KNOW you should not associate fictional characters with real life ....but it felt like my major eacape outlet reflected my real life so much I had a hard time functioning. When Ajani was cured....I was so happy. It felt like I could return to my escape, but the scars still remain. I need therapy just as mucb as Ajani needs therapy. Mom is in heaven now, so looking backI am happy Ajani is cured. We both need therapy.

I feel like not enough people know about and appreciate Ob Nixilis as a villain. With no new big bad in the story, it would be a good opportunity to flesh out some of the reoccurring minor villains, specifically Nixilis.

While I love the character, he's been pretty disrespected as of late. We didn't even get his true compleat card. The Gatewatch brushed him off, Elspeth and Chandra barely got time with him, no showcase of his talents on Theros. He's been on the back burner more than anything especially during the Phyrexian arc As one of my favorite characters he needs more and to do that he needs to stop playing second fiddle. We need another "Alara" where he's actually the main character

I agree 100%. While I believe Ajani plays best on a team (based on his powers) that doesn’t mean he can’t front run a story himself.

@@AetherHub Let's hope Angrath and Quint also get more love. Iconic as non-human planeswalkers. They are my favorites by far, but Angrath is my number 1. I still suspect he's from Ulgrotha, so here's hoping a return to it

Good ol Ajani. You’ll find one in every MtG friendgroup, alongside Timmy, Spike, and Vorthos.

Considering how rare planeswalkers are, they sure do keep running into each other.

Absolutely loved this video, fantastic work! Just Realizes the lore and flavor of the gods card are reflected 😮 the god isn’t a creature until you have x amount of devotion to them 🤯 indicating that their power comes from that devotion and belief. Sooo damn cool! Exactly why I love MTG!

Great video! Ajani has a super interesting story, not many can say they bested Nicol Bolas 1 on 1. I Ajani is very under appreciated but I love how much depth you into in this video ❤. Next character I'd like to see would be Chandra, she has an interesting story arch as well

I want to thank you for making these great lore videos. The lore and world building are my favorite part of mtg. One of my favorite planswalkers is no longer a plans walker, that it Huatli. I guess you can still do a video on her. I also would like a video on Vivien, Kaya, Nissa and Vraska.

Not sure if you’ll do anything with this, but my favorite planeswalker was always Gideon. I was a big fan of Aurelia and the Boros as a kid (Aurelia was one of my few really powerful cards at the time, and the deck I built around her was my best one) and Gideon was allied with Aurelia from what I remember of that storyline. Plus, between his story on Amonkhet and in Dominaria/War of the Spark, I was never bored with his story. (Now, I know Gids isn’t the most popular or well liked, so if a video about him isn’t really what you’re looking for, I’d also cast votes for Liliana and Chandra, because they’ve always been some of my favorites as well. (I’ve liked Liliana since Origins and Chandra since M15)).

I won’t lie, I’m happy he’s back after the Invasion, though I hope we get to actually see him afain soon!

I would personally love to see a Garruk video. And if it isn't to much to ask, it would be awesome to see more of the plan he originated

Ajani Goldmane was my first ever planeswalker card, and he glorious anthemed my merfolk army to many a victory at my LGS. That being said, I think his greatest companion, Elspeth Tirel, is my favorite planeswalker of all time, even before her angelic glowup

I think my favorite planeswalker is Kaya. Even though i'm not a huge fan of her cards. I don't really know why, maybe just because she is an orzhov character Great video ! It is cool to see it appear in my recommendations

Probably my favorite planeswalker ever. My first ever mtg deck was a mono white deck that was given to me by my steo brother. We played 2v2 in scouts. Me with the cat deck and him with wolves. We never lost. It should be no surprise that my second favorite planeswalker is Arlinn. When SOI released we bought like $100+ worth if packs and went to the opening night. We have every card from the set. I still have my Pre Release Thing In the Ice from almost 8 years ago

Great video updating Ajani's journey. You got one detail wrong. Ajani was able to compleate three gods before Heliod. He states that the first three were easy because their doctrine aligned well with that of Phyrexia. Editing to add my preference of which planeswalker's story I want to see: Jaya Ballard. Her story ties into Chandra Nalaar, Jodah, and Lim Dûl. I also like how her original Time Spiral design is what I speculate to be the prototype design for planeswalkers. The planeswalker card type did not exist prior to Lorwyn.

I definitely want a send-off video covering Tamiyo; she was fridged in March of the Machine and there's a lot of fun unknown LotR she would be connected to. ...They better do some spectacular writing for Nashi.

I have always liked Ajani and he is one of my favorite characters. I always knew that his story was kinda tragic but not as tragic as it is.

While i love Ajani and his journey, i hate the fact that WoTC has basically forgotten about his connection to red mana and how he used it to empower his allies, even in his compleated form. I'd love to see this power reflected once again, maybe even having a fully Nayan Ajani with acces to white, green and red mana. PS: Gideon or Garruk explained next

Good video, didn't appreciate the Jace slander though. Jace executeda play that would have resulted in a Pyrrhic Gatewatch Victory, then was literally backatabbed by Kaya and Elspeth. The blast would've blown New Phyrexia... And several other planes... To kingdom come, and the invasion would have stopped then and there. The death toll would've been incalculable, but the Phyrexians wouldn't have breached the multiverse. TL/DR the gatewatch could've won, if they listened to Jace

Ajani is my boy

As I prepare to watch, I have hppe that the Hub will be deft enough that it leads me to find a fondness for Ajani Goldmane, who I long considered to be an anthropomorphic yawn of a character. Perhaps I am too callous toward the Leonin, but I'd rather have Shawn Mich--I mean Gideon Jura back. And Gideon was such a square.

It recontextualized the tragedy of his completion for me, knowing that his most admirable traits were the very vulnerability exploited by the abomination of Phyrexia to integrate his considerable capabilities into their operations and, perhaps most unspeakably, to do so without his knowledge. As always, a splendid offering from everyone atThe Hub. Now I propose the more difficult challenge of answering these questions: Who is the most pants wettingly terrifying among the potentia futurel big bads, and why is it that incorrigible bastard whom our brave young hero Kellan isn't likely be over the moon about having to call him Dad? Srsly, Oko is capable of wreaking untold mayhem and catastrophe, yet what truly makes him so very petrifying are his "first I want to kill Batman, but then I decide I would never kill Batman" flavored motivations. His is not a pursuit of domination by conquest, nor does he seek to carry out some vague charge what finds him being burdened with glorious purpose (unlike some OTHER gods of mischief), or even just some all-consuming personal objective. Oko puts poops in pants because the most likely reason he gets up to the most of his awful disruptive shit for which he is infamous... is nothing more than his own amusement, derived from the joy of what I consider to be essentially just supernatural shitposting. His home plane of Eldraine already has them, and he would probably take offense were I to refer to him as such in earshot, but he ought to adjust his title because he's not King of the Faeries so much as King of the Trolls.

It was cool with me, it's how he went from a threat to Nicol Bolas to jobber that killed me. But still it's in line with his character to not find peace or a moments rest since his birth. It's also in his character to pass knowledge unto other based from experience. So I interested to see an Ajani who wants to atone for sins he couldn't control and how much more Godlike his chracter will become once he's back
