AJA Cion Camera - Gamma Disabled to Arri Log-C
Фильм және анимация
Technical video for users of the AJA CION 4K camera.
You must absolutely record your images with the gamma mode "none" of the camera. It means with a linear signal not processed. The firmware version does not matter with this setting.
This allows you to use the full dynamic range of the sensor and gives you more flexibility in color grading.

Problem solved. Thank you 😎
You are brilliant.
Thank you, i will try this on the Blackmagic 4K production camera, the one with the global shutter as it seems they use the same sensor.
GRATIDAO

When you activate the "luminance mapping" it gives a very nice shoulder to the curve rather than a brutal clipping point.

Sweeeet,... I'll give it a try with some "Iron City 1978" footage and post a link in the User group. Now if only we can get Aja to link some of these tech video's on their social media too !
Nice Video! Which version of cion system software are you using?

Hi Nevin ! In my case the versions 1.2 or 1.3 of the firmware are the same because I record the straight linear signal wich is the "None" or "Disabled" Gamma Preset of those firmware.
