AJ and Emily have it out
Ойын-сауық
AJ doesn't believe Emily was sorry to think AJ was dead. Emily launches into the usual dismissive, degrading lecture, finishing it off with the usual glowing Golden Boy worship. AJ tries to keep Emily from rushing away from him and she hits AJ. AJ reacts angrily and Alan stops him.

AJ was a character who was dealt the worst hand ever. Even when he came back his character was written to be trash especially when he had good cause to be angry.

And they never gave him perspective or explored the truth of the situation. AJ is standing there, speaking the hard truth to Emily and it’s like she hears none of it. They were all such mindless drones about the Michael situation. And I say this as someone that never liked Billy Warlock’s AJ. Honestly, I always thought that Carly and AJ could have been a better version of Alan and Monica. But they just torpedoed AJ’s character over the mob and moved Carly right into it… and all the Quartermaines were written to basically applaud his destruction. Very baffling choice, in my opinion.

I love how this show is written to 100% defend a criminal murdering psychopaths vs. a dude who just wanted to be a father to his child. So dumb how they continuously fucked over AJ Quartermaine, down to him being murdered by Sonny personally just because Sonny THOUGHT he was responsible for whatever. Come to think of it though, GH has always glorified awful people. Luke Spencer, Sonny, Jason, etc.

Did any of the Quartermaines ever think that maybe if AJ were given the chance to be a father, it may have brought out the best in him? Why is Sonny and Carly’s opinions the holy grail?

Exactly here’s my thing everyone acts as if AJ was scared of Sonny he wasn’t but they were so desperate to make Sonny somebody that they had to dog AJ to do so. If you ever watch before Jason accident AJ always told Sonny what’s up

This is something I've pointed out over and over. It's like GH turned into the one-woman Carly show, like it was just a Carly monologue that started when she came onto the show, and first Jason repeated her crap, then Sonny.

@@nicoleharvey6721 I agree 100%.
Guza’s 1997-2000 stint turned Emily into his mouthpiece for his worship of Jason and his hatred for the Quartermaines (AJ especially). Sadly, in 2005, that was still the case (even though it wasn’t quite as over the top during these years).
You did not mourn, Emily.

Yeah, hear that, hard to watch.
Yes, Emily, it is about sides, it's always been about sides. This is hard to watch, because Emily is downright abusive, not just to AJ's face, but in the face of what happened and why. She's foolish, too. This situation is too big for her to handle, she should say yes to everything AJ says and sneak away, like Monica did.

Good advice. I have serious objections to the hand-to-hand combat on GH, it's always between men and women. Women should not escalate or instigate violence with men. That said, she did, and AJ's reaction is understandable, especially when he stops himself. He's never been a violent guy. As much as I hate Emily, I almost wanted him to do it, but he wouldn't have stopped there, he would have finished her because she's such a total bitch. Then what. Sorry AJ lowered himself, he was better than all of them.

I would say that she did. Not just the fact that she raised her hand to him first, he could just have jumped back and swatted it away, but she was ALWAYS riding AJ's ass.
Emily provoked AJ here. I could never stand her holier than thou character. I didn't forget how she broke Zander's heart. Part of the reason he committed suicide was because of her. She kept him on the side while seeing Nikolas. Kinda glad her character was killed off. She wasn't a saint by FAR.

Bob Guza ruined GH for Jason, Carly, and Sonny. Though the infamous accident that created Jason Morgan happened during the Labine years of I’m not mistaken, it wasn’t until the late 90s (especially circa 1998) when the show started to bully AJ at every turn. Even the writers from 2001-spring 2002 seemed to hate AJ. RC seemed like he was doing good with AJ at first, then axed him off (stupid move)! AJ deserved so much better!

It was not revenge, Emily. AJ is trying to save his son. AJ is loving, caring, protective to a fault, otherwise he wouldn't have put up with YOU. Jason is stone cold.
