My cd piece won't read either. I watched this and what exactly did you do to fix it? I wasn't sure what it was you were adjusting. I would like to try and fix mine. I love my Aiwa.

There is a little adjustment pot on the laser that needed turned down.

What are you adjusting? Is that the laser value?

You have to save them if you can.

Sounds like you have a problem in your amp. Follow your speaker wires back to the PCB and check to see if you have any leaking caps on the board.

Alot of aiwa models have multiple speaker outputs and the original speakers had 2 sets of wires coming out. The red and black wires usually were strictly bass for the subwoofers and there were blue wires with rca jacks on the end that were for the mids and highs. That's most likely why you're only getting bass from your speakers.

These Aiwa systems were absolute shit, as were Philip’s at the time. Known for not reading discs within a two year window.
