Aish El Saraya (Bread of the Palaces)

An exotic no-bake dessert that comes together quite easily once you have the components ready, similar concept to a bread pudding. Mum has been making this for us since childhood days and it is truly irresistible that we are adding it to the desserts section of our recipe book! The base of the dish is layered with lightly toasted white bread then soaked with an Attar syrup, a cream filling known as Ashta is then poured over the top. As a finishing touch, garnish with crushed pistachios for some colour, flavour and texture. Refrigerate until set slightly ahead of serving in your place of abode being your very own palace.
