Innovators came from across the country to the annual AirTalent Symposium, hosted by the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division. This year's event took place at the University of Maryland at Southern Maryland events spaces in California Maryland.
AirTalent is a DoD STEM National Defense Education Partnership Grant awarded to NAWCAD to invest early in our future workforce, maintain STEM interests and build technical skills critical to the US Navy’s innovation base.
AirTalent aims to connect a continuum of engagement and research activities including efforts from Middle School, High School and Undergraduate research projects.
Engaging in authentic project-based learning, such as research projects, gives students the opportunity to gain experience that compliments classroom learning while applying critical, scientific thinking skills.
This has been shown to increase student participation in continued STEM graduate study, further career aspirations, and increase retention rates in STEM fields.
