    I’ve only ever been in one airport lounge, it was in Barcelona. I didn’t even pay to get in I happened to be travelling to the airport with someone from my hostel who I had never met before and they got me in with them. It’s the random acts of kindness that just remind you how good people are. Sam if you’re out there Thankyou

    This is SO helpful! I just got the AMEX Platinum and was so sad when I saw they restricted travel companion access to Centurion lounges. Now that you are talking about the crowding it makes sense. Luckily my high schoolers are old enough to wait at the gate alone. 😊

    Many of us poor grunts can't afford such luxury while on govt travels through airports. We can only hope there's a USO around. They're more than adequate to meet our undemanding needs when transitioning to our next duty station or TDY. One of my favorite USO lounge has been the one at LAX, where I'm able to get stow my bags and get some shut eyes while on a long layover. Thank you so much for all you do, USO! Hi Chris, just watched your 20 travel tips an realised it was 3 years ago, this is not about lounges, but ..Ive used packing cubes - but find them annoying as you cant see whats there , I have bought some Ikea drawer dividers, super light weight, and am going to "roll" my clothes into these, as I have a samsonite hard shell suitcase with the 2 sides as compartments. The side with the mesh zippered side will keep the stuff upright, and the I dont need to unpack underwear - T/shirts, shorts, all sorts, but just transfer these little boxes to the wardrobe or drawers and are all visible without having to unzip.. loved your packing tips ... thank you

    After watching one of your previous videos, on my upcoming trip I want to plan my flight out of Denver to leave earlier in the day to avoid delays. Unfortunately, it seems most flights to Australia leave late at night from the west coast. If I were to have a 7 to 8 hour layover in San Francisco or LA, would it be more worth it to buy a day pass for the United Club, or go out to explore during that time? I've been to both cities before, but having never been in an airline lounge, I'm having trouble deciding.

    The lounge membership has gone really downhill. I got the priority pass around 2016. My main travel hub is PDX (Portland, Oregon). Every time I tried to use the Alaska lounge the only partner lounge at PDX - it was always full or closed. At least in 2016-2018 you could get meal credit at a couple of the restaurants. After 2018 they discontinued the restaurant credit. Never could use the Alaska lounge benefit and treated on low status with my pass benefit. It was sad. Hello! Sorry if my message is long but I have a question. I will be taking my first international flight back to Vietnam this summer with my mom. My mom is elderly and this might be the last year she would have the health to travel back so I want to make it as comfortable for her as possible. I also want to apply for a travel credit card to take advantage of this trip but I'm not sure which of the following option is better: 1) Travel credit card with 0% APR interest for 15 months from opening date and no annual fee but no lounge access. 2) Travel credit card with access to airport lounges and an annual fee but no 0% APR promotion. I should add that I don't apply for credit cards with annual fees and I've only paid for things with my debit card.

  • @YellowProductions

    @YellowProductions

    Fundamentally if you're carrying a balance on your credit card (and paying interest) it's a really bad deal. You should aim to pay your credit card bill every month in full and not incur any interest payments. If that's how you use it, then definitely get the card with lounge access... use the lounge when you travel with your mom... and then if you don't need the lounge access anymore, cancel the card next year

  • @SmileAlwayz

    @SmileAlwayz

    @@YellowProductions Thank you kindly for your response. I am able to pay in full so I am fine with the first option. I haven't used a credit card in over a decade so I wasn't sure whether it's worth opening a card with the intention of closing it after a year. I will definitely take the first option into consideration because I do want to see how airport lounges are and it will help provide my mom some time to relax while in the airport. Thank you again. Best lounges are outside the US. Love the ones in Asia. Like you say you often get access to multiple lounges, partner lounges are sometimes better. ANA vs Star Alliance group lounge, or Singapore Air Kris vs the UA group lounge(SPATS?). Wife loves the Tokyo ANA lounge for the special order ramen. All I need is all you can drink diet coke...😁 I fly SFO and I frequently enter at the International TSA for domestic flights. Then I walk to the domestic term once beyond security. The domestic TSA often has long lines. If lines at International TSA is long, I walk to domestic and wait in line there. I refuse to pay for TSA Pre or other skip the queue programs. Not that I can't afford it, I just think it's wrong for a government agency to discriminate by wealth. If you can afford it, you can skip the line with all the poor people waiting. Same with all these express lanes on the freeway. If you can pay more just drive at 75mph passing all the folks stuck in traffic. Government run services should not do this...what do you think?

    Australian here. I'm a platinum with Qantas and have access to all domestic lounges including the business lounge before and after a flight and can take two guests in with me. On international flights I have access to all One World first class lounges. On a trip to London in 2018, we flew from Newcastle to Brisbane where we went to the Qantas lounge where the staff told us the Emirates lounge was much nicer so we went in anyway just to check it out, stayed a shoert while, then went to the Emirates lounge and it was very nice indeed. Had a few days in Dubai and when we came back to the airport to continue on to London we went into the Emirates first class lounge. OH MY GOD! Can anyone tell me if there is a lounge any better than this? Coming home, Qantas at Heathrow was OK as was Qantas at Singapore. I don't fly often anymore but I did rack up 14,000 status credits which gives me lifetime gold. That gets me into the regular Qantas Club domestically before a flight only and with one guest and internationally I can access the business lounge of One World. Basically, a step down from platinum but I don't have to do anything to maintain that. It's mine for life.

    Airport Lounge Food Choices is not delicious for over RM$289 per entrance can save money to eat great meals with 4 friends outside. Food like Lamb, Beef, Liquor drinks on the bar, common japanese curry rice, raw sushi, hard breads, are not many people's would choose or liking. Do people drink a lot during travel? No. So the liquor drinks display are worthless except for display of luxury feel or feel worthy after pay.

    You should consider switching your camera frames around. Viewers like me are here to see the lounges and the food that it offers. But you have it on a very small screen while showing yourself on the full size screen. What gives? It doesn't make sense. Time to move on to a different channel where they actually show the lounge. Sorry. 😕

    I'm putting out a whole series of lounge guides like that. Try this one of the Amex Lounge in San Francisco. I'm only in frame for the first 10 seconds or so. Then it's just the lounge: kzread.info/dash/bejne/c6upz5ZydKiomso.htmlsi=zhd_h7YtkKbDEVT-
