Thank you very much for all your knowledge and professionalism, I've been painting for 22 years now and worked at very reputable painting companies but now paint and drywall for a construction company and they're great to work for, I'm a residential painter by trade, interior and exterior new construction and repaints, we use to paint alot of car lots and for production we'd put in a bigger tip and turn the pressure way down and we'd backroll so we had no over spray because it wasn't being atomized with higher pressures but basically like a garden hose, of course if you're not backrolling you cannot do this but the older journeyman painter's taught us this technique, we didn't do this on any smooth surfaces, just drivet, blocks, cinder blocks. Thank you so much for your channel Idaho painter and I watch and learn more all the time from you all.

I use a little plastic to keep my hands clean when straining. Super easy. Even a latex/nitrile glove helps. I also have been using a big plastic shower cap thing from Sherwin Williams with a hole cut into it to cover my five gallon or one gallon buckets. My dad has been cutting those lids like that forever (30+ year pro painter) but i think my way works a lot easier. They also make much easier lids these days so you could even cut or drill out a hole in that.

It’s spitting because its the glidden. I used glidden on Exterior HomeDepot I use to spray all of them on longisland one thing I notice about glidden is the color fades extremely fast within 2 years the paint job looks very very dull the worst fading paint by far it looses it sheen after a year and Becomes very spotty then starts loosing its color, I paint high risers in NYC love the channel brings me back when I painted homes, favorite paint I keep it simple Regal everything to be safe superspec is the lowest I’ll go lol

Hi, Chris. Quick question, maybe it shows in your masking video, but I see you’re running the paint onto the white trim and from the video it looks like the tape is only set to cover the windows. And as I’m typing this I saw the shot of you on the roof with a brush. Is it just that much easier to hand paint and touch up the trim with the brush just so you can rock through the big surface area stuff with the sprayer without having to waste much time taping up the trim? Or what is your process with that/your idea behind that? Thank you in advance. I appreciate the time you put into these videos. They’ve helped me avoid so much of the trial and error phase when I bought my sprayer and was able to start painting with lots of veteran know how even as a novice

I have a question. I just painted all of my walls semi gloss white. I hate it lol...Do I need to sand them to put another semi gloss color on top of that or can I just paint over it with another semi gloss color? They are currently white and I want to go light grey

To be honest with you the Glidden now in days a lot better then your top quality paint at lowes or home depot brands.

Paint Life TV i’m sure it sprays on fine and looks decent when it’s dry but any paint you can get for $10 a gallon at Home Depot is not something I would use personally on a customers house. but like I said if they have no problem with it, and you like it, then to each their own.

edgar romero . The only reason I don’t prefer it I have used Benjamin Moore paint for almost 25 years, I personally don’t buy any paint from Home Depot or Lowe’s but I do know this brand I’ve seen gallons for as low as $10 apiece. But I do know there are inexpensive paints that work pretty well. But my company personally would not use this stuff on any of our Jobs. But to each.....👍🏼

What is the smallest job you would use a typical commercial airless sprayer on? Like half a gallon? 5 gallons? I don't have experience yet with my sprayer. I'm thinking about how much paint waste, cleanup, etc vs time saved and quality of finish. I have some cabinets I would like to paint. I ended up painting them with a brush and small roller, but it took a long time, and I didn't like the finish quality. I'm a homeowner, with no plans to be a pro painter. I do plan to paint my home's exterior sometime soon as well. This is probably a no-brainer for using the airless sprayer.

Hey I like your info on the tech of spraying,, I am doing a stucco paint job Solo,, for a friend of a friend.. he saw the job I did for his buddies garage and just said I want you to paint my house.. so that's what I'm in progress doing now this week.. I have a small Graco 390 with the pro gun and 12" extension.. I didn't want to use the gun that came with and got the Pro gun. That was a smart move on my part cause they don't tell you it's a pos gun to use if your doing multiple Jobs.. now I'm going to use the 521 tip for the stucco job cause I just happened to find it hiding in my tool,, lol I know the 515 is a great tip. But I'm worried that the elastomeric paint will be to thick for it to push thru the 390.. is that going to be a issue with the product that I have? And what would the overlap be on a tip like that being Solo and backrolling with a big fluffy 1" nap,, or should I find a helper to come behind me and hit it..and I see that you strain your paint the way I was taught many moons ago. I've learned a less Messer way and been doing that ever since. I just take the 1 gallon strainer and wrap it around the feeder hose and boom it strains as I go.. it works great and I have gotten used to do it that way,, I just recently found your channel when I was looking for some good advice or techniques I can use on this job.. my lil sprayer is a decent one so I'm used to that.. I just had to dust off the cobwebs and clean it up for the garage job and it is still pushing the flow of regular latex. But I haven't pushed any elastomeric thru it yet so I'll find out fairly quick if it can. Or have to barrow a commercial one..I think it's the next size up from the 390st..

Well,, hey Brave!? I didn't get a chance to find out about how the elastomeric paint flowed thru my 390.. the customer had the wrong color mixed and ended up with 10gal of the wrong color. Lol..so he went back to get the correct color and brought back some midgrade HD paint that was the primer and finish in one..so he forgot to get elastomeric paint and the same color that was on the house to begin with... That was the 3rd mistake he made and all I could do at that point was to just repaint the whole house in a slightly darker color and the trim paint was the darker shade of gray and he wanted me to just use the elastomeric for that.. the sample he took was misunderstood at the store for being the color he already had..lol.so I will give that to the employee mixing the paint..an not listening to the customer and not paying attention to what he wanted..so I completed the job and it looks like a decent paint job.. no overspray , drips or runs,,and it took every drop on his house cause it was so dry.. I still did the. Backroll thing and it drank the whole 10gls.like it was Beer!!. Then I sheerocked the inside of his garage and ended up with the left over elastomeric paint he didn't want witch I'm going to spray my house with this weekend..lol
