Ooh... 1/72 (20mm) is an interesting and nostalgic scale, I used to love making those kits and then finding increasingly dangerous ways to destroy them! Great series of unboxings - cheers!

I think nail clippers are recommended as beginner sprue cutters. I have heard that in the Gunpla community at least.

Nail clippers - don't fancy trying that. I used to use my dad's stanley as a kid.

I used to work for them when I did my tour in retail for Hamleys. Need to be carful some of these kits are literally older than my father and the age shows with new modern kits. Yet the price remains high

The large amount of bits and bobs actually shows age. Moulds have come a long way. Which I’m sure you both know is exactly why we get simpler kits know

Not for a modeller, but it is marketed as a beginner kit, and the jeep at least is not that at all.

Hey guys, Airfix, do a full build instruction video from beginners on KZread, which gives you tips to build with our comments and will scare kids off from having a go be more positive and tell them about the Airfix you tube channel. Please read the box it tells you about the paint.

Sorry mate, we review things as we find them and that Jeep kit is anything but a starter kit. You are quite right about the paint, I don't know why I didn't notice it at the time. If you watch the whole video you will find us a lot more positive about the later kits - we open them in the order we did, and gave our honest opinions.

Gnat in yellow was first GB training jet. Yellow colour for original RAF display team. Later was first aircraft used by Red Arrows. Built by Folland.

Most of those kits are obviously a later generation from the stuff I made in the 70s, construction does appear a lot easier. Try the original Matilda, Churchill, Panther and Tiger 1 they were a proper challenge! Great days.
