    Love the build - really nice. I know Old Buckenham too as we are only a few miles away. My late father-in-law grew up at Seething and used to watch the B-24's fly in and out of there during the war. He was lucky enough to be given a baseball bat by one of the airmen stationed there as he had just completed his tour and was going back to the States the next day. He still had it when he passed away - it was one of his most treasured possessions. Lovely work and a fitting place for Corky to be shown.

    Lovely build of the Libby. It's come out really good. But truly that amount of lead inside the cockpit is just....hazardous and explosive !! Beautiful pictures of the airfield and rhe aeroplanes in the backdrop specially the last one with the flags and the memorial. Keep up the good work

    Nice build. Re: Tail-sitters. Aside from using gold instead of lead, you may try a couple of things: __1__ Cutting out the sides of the weight “bin” so you can put more lead in (checking for fit often, of course). __2__ Putting weight in the nacelles (although, that depends on the strength of the undercarriage as there is not nearly the leverage as the front of the fuselage has. __3__ Use a neodymium magnet inside a thinned out front wheel and display on a suitable magnetic surface. The first option should be enough, but there is just so much styrene on the tail of this kit, perhaps the neutron star material *is* the only option. = = = = = 😁

    I contemplated filling the rear fuselage with Hydrogen, but I had this uncomfortable feeling that a large bag of highly flammable gas may cause issues..

    I use Liquid Gravity, which may be familiar to some modellers. It goes everywhere if you're not careful, but, it fills all those gaps your lead leaves. Think Blue Peter and their glitter: pour it into the spaces over a large sheet of paper with a crease already in it, then any overspill can be poured back into the pot. Pour some diluted PVA onto it which when 'cured', does a great job of holding it all in.

    Liquid gravity is my go-to for curved spaces. Lead is denser and if the psace is fairly square, will do a better job

    In such a case, I think, I would add more weight in the engines. Plus, if you use plasticine to fix the weight, that adds some more.

    So 40g of lead was not enaught? Strange. In manual Airfix suggest 25g? I’m curious how it really need to be.

    Great narration! Yep, that weight problem is a deal killer for me. I guess Airfix doesn't have the where with all that Tamiya does when it comes to accuratly sized premolded weights. Too bad.

    Lead + liquid gravity as an option maybe??

  • @VFCproductions

    @VFCproductions

    I tested liquid gravity as an option but it is considerably lighter than the lead sheet. The lead was cut tight enough that it filled most of the available space and was thus the heaviest option available to me

Well, I guess it's beyond you to acknowledge that a kit of this complexity, in this day and age, is a stunning example, and not aimed at kids with their pocket money prices.... Not every model has to be for the beginner; more mature enthusiasts have to catered to as well, and this kit is certainly for that crowd. Quite why you chose this rather nice video to pick-on for your unpleasantness, I don't know. It certainly doesn't deserve your nasty pedantry....
