Aircrete Recipe is What? | Weekly Peek Ep319
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Bryson and Gary have fun making more foamcrete for the Patio Build. This time they experiment with a new foaming agent and pour a center beam in place and one rafter after another. Cure time will take a couple of weeks before the rafters can be lifted into the air. Stay tuned to see the interesting building material. Thanks for Watching! We appreciate you :)

Bryson so adorable..."balance it with one finger" 🤣
The poor hoop barn is on its last legs.... So looking forward to the demolition of it. The aircrete looks good!
LOVE HOW Y'ALL GET ALL THE PROJECTS DONE TOGETHER!
I've been patiently waiting for this project to return.
I loved how when Bryson had some aircrete left straight away he said about making you (mum) a pot even if it was a fail it’s the thought that counts #verycaringfamily 🤗 🤗 from Scotland 🏴

Thank you for sharing and most of all thank you for reminding us all that loving families still exist 😊 Love your videos!
Cool use case for aircrete. A lot of times the uses people come up with aren’t really great applications for it. But the idea to use it for beams is pretty clever. The lightness is a big help there.
Thanks for sharing your experience working with aircrete. 😊🏠
Another great project. Thank you so much for sharing. I can't wait to see how this whole thing turns out!!!
I think what I enjoy about the projects you undertake is that you do them with a fearlessness and just get on with it ... you have a wonderful family and you are all a joy to watch ... you make the world a better place

Good work! I'm excited to see the finished look of it ! Love how everyrhing is turning out!
Shae's command of English, particularly the extensive vocabulary, was a joy to listen to! Btw, how is the book doing?
Very interesting about the air Crete. Bryson I love your sense of humor.
Bryson, you and your dad made me soooo tired watching y'all work -HA! I always enjoy y'alls humor. I look forward to seeing the result next week.
It’s really looking good there! Love that little crumble pot in there. LOL! It is so neat some of the things y’all find to build with. Take care and blessings!
I was saying the same thing She'll as I was watching it print. That is why you always have an extra bobbin ready when you are doing a bunch of sewing. Good to see you found out about a different soap or foaming agent. That looks great. Nice looking Bubble bath soap. Just put a couple drops of Lavender oil in the tub too and you are ready to go. 🛀 It will be interesting to see how it looks when you're all done.
I'm always impressed with what yu guys come up with. Infinite Possibilities
Light but heavy enough that the wind can't lift it but congratulations on your ideas and to watch a father and son to work side by side and be able to enjoy ever moment of the time is great to see in your family thanks for your videos and keep them coming my family thanks you
I been Foaming at the mouth for this episode. I have come to the concrete conclusion that I might be a bit of a hard core fan of you guys.
I love the dad needs a raise! And immediately thought what my husband always says after a more money comment. Double nothing is still nothing. But the respect generated is doubled!
The crumbling pot makes me nervous. Hope that large beam is stronger than that! Love seeing Gary and Bryson work together.

Did you watch the wedding? this is a older video of them making the beams, that was used in the wedding. If not then watch the wedding, because it worked.

@@villain1409 The beam they made then was way more solid than this. This looks to be as solid as a cookie. Bryson broke a chunk apart at 8:29 with no effort at all. And this is supposed to be load bearing.

@@flybywire5866 Yes your correct, but what mean is,i believe they made these videos before the wedding & got all the beams in working order,i remember them saying on the wedding video, they would be showing us how they made it all. So in the end they got their mixture correct.
This has been so interesting to watch! Thanks for the video. Blessings to you all!
I can’t wait to see what it looks like when you put it up that’s pretty awesome
***Handsome Bryson is brilliant .. [ I wonder who is capable to steal this precious heart .. has to be another genius .. right !! ] Great job Gary & Bryson .. 😘 💕.. 💕.. God Bless you guys. / Love from Québec 🇲🇶***
What kind of music does Bryson listen too? He’s always got headphones or ear buds in? Great project!
Nice work gentlemen. Cure time is important. I think if you had let the pot sit for a week it might not have crumbled. Looking forward to seeing the rafters go up. Take care and have a great weekend.
Just amazing love watching creativity in action.
Nice to see recently a few things that have somethings that have an interest for men.
Yay! You guys are awesome 😎
Thanks for being on you to.
Anything you use that can break should have an immediate backup and second backup that just acts as the buffer so that when your current break, it moves up to be the backup and you have time to print or buy more. I learned that lesson many many years ago and apply that to anything I use up too, doesn't matter if it's materials or food stuff. I always arrange for a backup of anything I use often too. It just makes sense to me. That way i know to go buy more when I pick up the last one from the cupboard too.
Dad of the year 😀👏🏻👏🏻😘
Looking good! Loving how this is coming together
You guys continue to amaze me 😃
Great job. Much Love❤

Great job guys
Your families awesome!
Bryson the star, he needs to make it less boring in dark
I love how all of you kids have so much respect and appreciation for your parents. You can tell the feeling is mutual and the parents respect and love their kids just as much. It is so nice to see that an American family can and is like this !! We can all learn something from this family.

Hello friends 👋 I'm super invested in this project I want to learn all I can from you hopefully in the next year or so we will be buying land 😊
Y’all sure do make things look easy . I know it’s not but y’all make me feel like anything is possible
Mycelium molds are really cool. Bryson could make a vacuum former for creating the molds out of sheet plastic.
Looking better than the big wall. LOL
Aircrete can be so inconsistent. I think measuring everything by weight as accurately as possible is important. Make test blocks and keep EVERYTHING consistent. Measuring by eye by filling containers can move your water to cement ration to far. Foam has to be dry as possible and shaving cream consistency. Measure foam weight for every batch. Impurities in water also cause problems with the foam. Mixing without pulling in large air bubble also helps. It seems like messing up the water to cement ratio is really easy with aircrete and makes it super weak. Looking forward to the results. Don't be to disappointed if a few don't turn out.
Geeneeus!
What a decent young man.
Genius 🌈
If possible warm water will also help stabilize the Aircrete longer.
I wish my brother in law was still alive. He was a cement contractor for 40 years. He would have been really interested in this.
Clay is another alternative. Sieve the dirt, until powder is left. Add water and you have clay. Store the clay in a cold place.
Drexel mix is 4oz per gallon.
Liken the tool passing intro. What an ..... interesting way to pour ..... foamcrete. Did the foamcrete bubbles harden as they floated through the air? Thought painting my spare room was a lot of work ..... not. Watching that stuff bubble as it settles, reminded me to make pea soup this weekend.
I've been keeping air/foam crete in mind for my future build(s) ..... but as I watched y'all work, it suddenly dawned on me ... what if I used this material to make moss poles for my monsteras to climb up as they grow? My thought process being the airy-ness of the crete might lend itself to mosses growing securely on it and that would provide a light-ish weigh, solid, mossed surface for the aerial roots to hold on to! Plus as the monstera's reach higher - I could recast more lengths and attach them on top each other ... mmm, this part is a bit sketchy - but hey, worth a shot ! This all leaves me with a question for you fine folks : Do you think it is possible to pour a pole approx. 7 feet in length with internal metal support? My baby LF Monstera Deliciosa will be getting divided, and new plant pants in the spring - which gives me time to tinker a few months on this project .... given my NY winter isn't the old norm of 120+ inches of snow a season, with a beautiful nor'easter winds below zero ... ahhh the beauty of pure, driven snow on a field ....... EEK!!!! Send help, why am I here!?!?!? I have followed y'all for years and it never ceases to amaze me how through it all your family has each others' backs, and there seems no limit to everyone's imaginations!!!! Very inspiring and encouraging!

Mad Scientists in their Laboratory!
What is the recipe you use for foamcrete? What is the resulting density (in lbs/cu.ft)? What kind of load can you put in the middle of various spans of your beams? It is very exciting to see what you are attempting, but a bit frustrating that we don't see how you approach the details. Have you ever attempted an exterior vertical wall or roof pour? I would love to learn how you would wrap a house with foamcrete as an exterior insulation/vapor barrier and especially how to waterproof such a roof. Thanks so much for sharing your beam-building! These are valuable shares!
Hmm I wonder if they use a pressure pot to shrink the bubbles in Pop Rocks. As the candy dissolves the pressure is released. I thought of this because people use pressure pots to shrink air bubbles in resin.
''Fungus among us'' hehe!
Interesting
I have loved everything you have created in the past but these beams I would not trust. I would have found some recycled beams or alternative but not concrete. Hope everything turns out well.
Hello guys
It wouldn't surprise me if you really do make a steel reinforced fungus beam. Paul Stamets guest appearance.
@mylittlehomestead I am wondering if any of you might use the aircrete to build a new roof for the garage area? Of course after the deck is done. You could widen the square footage out and up, I just hope it will hold up to snow when the time comes.
Your foam needs to weigh 9-10gms per 1ltre. A 20kg bag cement to 12ltrs water and foam to 75ltrs, also if you add a pinch of fibre glass fibres to add strength. If you want a hard surface you can mix up a pour of a waterproof outer layer cement (I forget what it's called sorry)

Oh and if you lift and drop your mixed aircrete to the ground gently 5 times, it relaxes the bubbles
🌻
I should have watched the entire video to get the answer to my question. I still would appreciate your response.... Many Thanks PEACE
❤️❤️❤️
When I read the title I saw “aircraft” and genuinely thought “wow they’re building airplanes now”🙄😂
Shelly has that logistics thinking down. It's not a hard part to make, but it takes time. So have one extra in case the first one breaks down. Then as you're installing the spare one, you start the process of printing a new replacement one, meaning unless the replacement part breaks in the first ~3 hours of use, you should be OK.
Hey Bryson, While watching you guys work with the foam I was wondering if using those small Styrofoam balls might have been better. The foam doesn't seem to fill the void like solid Styrofoam would. Just a thought. Your praise for your dad is spot on. He is a hard worker and has set a good example for all of you kids. Your mom also, she does not shy away from anything either. Since the first day I found your channel I have been a loyal follower and look forward to your weekly shows. It's nice that you have a middle of the week show and I hope as time goes along you make it so each of you have your own show so we can get 5 shows a week. I know it would be a lot of work but it sure would be nice. Is show the right word for it ???
Great job...tell me do the tools get wet in pole barn, with the giant hole
Haha "fungus among us".

Did you think of using fiberglass rebar? Its 5x's stronger than reg. rebar! think it's called ultra rebar?
Light, but heavy...😁 Definitely not as light as the name would imply, I imagine.

Yes. we all film and edit separately.
I'm curious, how do you guys ensure that the main beam is fully filled when it's all closed up except for the holes for pouring? Also, I thought it was a bunch of bugs on the first shot of the aircrete bubbling! I was like, "Whoa!" Lol. Happy building!
Things are looking great. Looks like the goats horns are growing the wrong way and need to be trimmed.
Could you make air rest planters or pots?
Question...... I see a lot of air bubbles on the exterior of this air concrete. Is it these same bubbles on the interior portion ?????? My concern is the strength on these vs regular concrete.......
I would be really interested to know how much all the materials cost the ie . . . metal studs, portland cement, and foam agents?
What about adding foam shipping peanuts shaved down .would that work ?
Now that you are experts how about a foam hoop barn
Just wondering why you didn't use the pump to fill the beam with the foamcrete ?????
