Great video, i'd go for the aerolite or phantom, the chopper would probably kill me. 😂
Thanks for the video! I enjoyed your approach to reviewing each of these aircraft. Since I was a little boy I dreamed of flying, but it is too expensive--even as a hobby. Ultralights are indeed a decent way to bring costs down, but they're still way beyond most Americans' budget.

@@AviationRepublic Yes, that's what got me dreaming! A friend of my parents had a license, and once gave me and my brother a ride in a rented Cessna. Nothing else compares to the experience of flying in small aircraft. In my opinion.

I could not agree more, it's just the best experience, but not so when the weather closes in. :-)
It seems some the these excede the FAA Ultralite regulations. Though they may have ultralite models, somewhat like some LSA aircraft. (that do require a license but only a recreational one. Ultralite aircraft also have another difference. You not only do not need a pilot's license to fly them but the FAA does not requard them as aircraft. To the FAA they are 'vehicles' not aircraft and the FAA does not care about them, unless you interfear with aircraft operations. If you crash one do not call the FAA they do not care. Rather like the FCC and CB radios.

Now that I did not know, I am amazed that the FAA does not classify them as aircraft, thank you for pointing this out, i think here in the UK if we so much as throw a ball in the air you need a license.

@@AviationRepublic Another quirk from the FAA is the difference between Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) and general aviation is the medical certificate. A general aviation pilot must pass a FAA physical. But if you only fly LSA aircraft you do not need one just a valid driver's license. The trick is with no medical you can fly a LSA aircraft, but not a general aviation aircraft. But if you fail the FAA physical you can fly neither general aviation aircraft or LSA. So if you health is questionable just fly LSA aircraft and do not get a physical.
I want one, done care which, I want one... anyone fancy lobbying the CAA on this??? 😂
