Seen here is a comparisement between the Boeing 777 and the Airbus A350. The subtypes of the Boeing 777-200ER and Boeing 777-300ER are used for Boeing and the Airbus A350-900 and Airbus A350-1000 are used for Airbus.
In this video you can see a couple of rare catches, for Amsterdam Schiphol airport, such as the Boeing 777-200ER from British Airways, normaly a Boeing 787 operates this route. The Airbus A350-900 from Vietnam Airlines in Skyteam livery is the only Airbus A350 in Skyteam livery, and therefore quite rare. Especially as Vietnam Airlines
The Airbus A350-900 is the main type of longrange, wide-body airliner made by Airbus. Designed to compete with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner the Airbus A350 is mostly made of carbon fibre reinforced polymer. The A350 XWB has two variants: The A350-900 can carry max from 300 to 350 passengers over a 15,000 kilometres or 8,100 nautical miles range and has a 280-ton (617,300 pound) maximum take-off weight.
The A350-1000 is the largest variant of the A350 family at just under 74 metres (243 ft) in length. It seats 350 to 410 passengers in a typical three-class layout with a range of 16,100km (8,700 nmi). With a 9-abreast configuration, it is designed to replace the A340-600 and compete with the Boeing 777-300ER and 777-9. Compared to a Boeing 777-300ER with 360 seats, Airbus claims a 25% fuel burn per seat advantage for an A350-1000 with 369 seats. The 7 m (23 ft) extension seats 40 more passengers with 40% more premium area. The -1000 can match the 40 more seats of the 777-9 by going 10-abreast but with diminished comfort. The A350-1000 has an 11-frame stretch over the −900 and a slightly larger wing than the -900 models with trailing-edge extension increasing its area by 4%.
The Boeing 777-200ER ("ER" for Extended Range), originally known as the 777-200IGW (increased gross weight), has additional fuel capacity and an increased MTOW enabling transoceanic routes. With a 298-ton (658,000 lb) MTOW and 93,700 lbf (417 kN) engines, it has a 13,084km (7,065 nmi) range. It was delivered first to British Airways on February 6, 1997. The Boeing 777-200/ER had a choice of three engines, Rolls Royce, General Electric or Pratt and Whitney engines.
The 777-300ER ("ER" for Extended Range) Its higher (Maximum Take Off Weight) MTOW and increased fuel capacity permits a maximum range of 13,650 km (7,370nmi) with 396 passengers in a two-class seating arrangement. The 777-300ER features raked and extended wingtips, a strengthened fuselage and wings and a modified main landing gear. It is powered by the GE90-115B turbofan, the world's most powerful jet engine with a maximum thrust of 115,300 lbf (513 kN). The engine is as big as a Boeing 737 fuselage!

I find it much more exciting to watch a 777 than an A350, although the latter is a bit better for traveling, it's 777 for me.
The A350 is just perfect
The A350 is going too take over the 777. Particularly the A350-1000 variant. That is until Boeing releases the new 777X models. Which are supposed too have larger engines and i believe the biggest variant will be longer then the current 777-300ER.

I havn't been travelling with the A 350 so far but with the - 300 ER from Boeing a lot. For this size it's a very very rapid and powerful plane and it's very quiet inside the cabin. In Berlin on our old airport Tegel we had two runways. Parallel. For take off Air Berlin and Qatar always used the longer one which was roughly 3300 meters long. With their A 330-200's. Qatar than used their 777-300 ER and it rotated exactly on the same position like the A330's did. That says it all.

The 777 built in the days when Boeing was Boeing-not the amalgamated one of today, with MAX handi- cap. That said, I think the A350 a fantastic Aircraft and so to the 777. Boeing should be building a new 777 not the 777x. There is no need for such a large aircraft anymore as the A380 has shown.

Why don’t you compare the Dreamliner to the a350! The 777 is an old design. It’s 28 years old. The Dreamliner is a way better plane anyways. But the pilots prefer the Boeing 777 cause of its power.
