This is by far the best takeoff vid I have seen yet. I keep coming back to this one. It has the perfect angle, highest quality, best audio, and the audible radio traffic really adds to it. The fixed camera doesn't even vibrate during takeoff. I just wish it was a bit longer after takeoff.

If you look at the accidents where the Airbus design played a part, those are the story of the 80s and 90s. Aviation has come a long way. Even Boeing had a lot of issues with their design(remember the 737 rudder issues?). But valuable lessons have been learnt from previous fatal disasters, which has led to flying becoming much safer.

When you're talking about safety records, then I guess you're right. More birds in the sky for a longer amount of time does increase the odds.. Anyway, aviation has come a long way. Airlines and manufacturers have learnt valuable lessons from the accidents that happened. With so many airplanes in the air, it's amazing how safe air travel is compared to other means of travel.

Hi, some airports will require you to maintain the taxi lights until gearup depending on their own safety regs. This came about after a spate of near misses many years ago. I'm Australia and it is not as common as in some Euro and US airports but it does happen. Hope this makes sense :)

On the A320 family, the nose and runway lights get turned off after gear up, but the lights are automatically turned off upon gear retraction. The same for all airplanes with nose lights installed. The flow is, gear up, spoilers disarmed and then lights. Landing lights get finally turned off when reaching 10,000 feet, and this is a worldwide standard. watch the radar returns on the capt ND of storms ahead. An oddity of this take off is that it was a flaps 2, and packs off take off. Excellent!

If I got something wrong, correct me please :D
@macadom22211 жыл бұрын
no, I believe it's because they can't see outside clearly when the cockpit lights are on because the cockpit windscreen would reflect the light and all that the pilots would see is their own reflection. If you have noticed, when the cabin lights are fully on, you can't make out what's outside even when you are sitting near the window, unless you glue your face to the window glass.

@justtakeiteasy I hope I understood your question right. I´am not sure about. I think that airlines are trying to keep up the competition between Airbus and Boeing to keep the prices as low as possible and the technology as modern as possible. That´s why Lufthansa for example buys A 380 and the 747-8 at the same time. Normally the 747-8 should not be competitive to the A 380. But creating a monopole of one manufacturer is not in the interest of airlines.

You seem to forget that the pilots, the two co-pilots, were the one who made the mistakes, not the computers. The airbus computers had NO ROLE to play in the crash. It wasn't because the computers didn't give them full control, it was because one co-pilot had the urge to pull the stick up and keep it there the whole time. If that is a design flaw, then I'm the President of the United States. You also forget that the 787 and 777 also use the same technology.

ellerine saglik, devamini bekliyoruz :) bugra
can i ask a question who's PF at the takeoff roll it looks like cpt is PF and after lift off looks like f/o is PF
Yes I agree in principle with what you say BUT we are talking about safety record which does NOT differentiate between the cfauses. Therefore more aircraft in the sky for longer time increases the odds does it not ?
Sercan kaptan süper bir calisma :) Arkadaslara katiliyor, digerlerini bekliyoruz Barış
Can i ask what the pack 1 and 2 buttons are for? I know they are for the air con but what exactly do they do?
does that mean V1 changes depending on the length of the runway and not just the aircraft itself?
What airline you fly for ?
I love airbus!
Awsome video! Wish tgis was my job.
nice angle... ;)
@Mrcan what handle? What do you mean
You also forget that the 787 and 777 also use the same technology.
thnkx :D
i love Raikkonen too
Bilen arkadaşlar varsa sormak isterim..3.24 civarı varyosu çok değilmiydi? 1 dakikaya yakın daha tutsa stall uyarısı gelmez miydi? üstelik climb thrust' a geçiş yapmışken!
why aren't they aligning the plane to the runway BEFORE setting take off-speed? in this video they do it only right after giving "full power", never seen this before.. is there any particular reason`?
GREAT VIDEO, the put Toga mode when going to take off?
this is cool
