Airbus, A320, IAE V2500, Hung start during automatic engine start, for training purposes only

During automatic engine start if the engine encounter a hung start, indication will be a laziness in the N2 and N1 and there will be an ECAM message, due to the fuel pored in the engine and the EEC abort the start due to the hung start, the EEC will develop an automatic dry motoring and the starter will still engage, you need to take care about the starter duty cycle, Hung start mean the engine is failing to reach the idle rpm, Hung start meaning the rpm will hang, Hung start may be due to a weak starter due to low air pressure from the pneumatic source. In the event of a hung start, the engine should shut down and check the air presurre from the source and the starter also may be in need to be checked.

    @@Haytham_Aly I know plus the PTU Started going crazy while we taxied as the pilot was trying to start the number 2 engine it was spooling up and then started to spool back down before we safely took off

    No... Never , Fadec takes care of it..... Just go ahead and read the Procedure , it says after dry Crank completed.... Eng master off Cheers

    Hello friend, thanks for your questions 😊, many reasons may do hung start, like, not heading the engine into wind when starting, starter air pressure not sufficient from the apu or ground start equipment.

    Yes , auto and manual start are there , in auto fadec open the start valve , In manual , from the start panel Are you a pilot or aircraft maintenance engineer??? And what you like most regarding the channel Best regards Haytham Aly

    Hello ! I meant the font of the ECAM message indeed. They looks like fonts taken from word. Is it a real FFS or a custom built simulator with hardware ? The surge effect seems quite realistic. Working on a PC 320 simulator (FSlabs) so i am keen on this aircraft :)

    philippe gleize, it is a real full flight simulator of the A320 with V2500 engine, may be it is an old one, I think our academy received it since 1998.
