did you ever solve this? I know that on a honda you have to leave the battery off for awhile then plug them in and put the battery back on and they usually work.

Usually codes need to be cleared with an OBD2 that has SRS regardless if its fixed or not

On a Honda it is a 2.2 Ohm resistor so that seems about right. Most cars seems to range from about 2 to 3.5 Ohms.

@@isaacnewton1545 From what I can see it looks like 2.2 ohms will work for Nissan as well. If you search “NRG 2 ohm resistor” or”NRG airbag bypass” they sell what looks like a fuse with 2 red wires. That is the one I used. It’s around $10-15 for a 2 pack usually.

@@CouchMan88 thanks for the reply. Also do we need especial tools to remove the plastic on steering wheel to have access those airbags fuses?

  • @CouchMan88

@@isaacnewton1545 The fuses should just be normal fuses. Make sure to disconnect the battery for at least 20-30 minutes before working on anything related to the airbags. You don't want them to go off while doing anything with them. You need to look up the procedure on how to do it for your car. There is a potential for an airbag deployment, so you need to be really careful and understand the wiring diagram. Much of the time you can just pop off the plastic, remove the bolts/nuts that hold the steering wheel on and unplug the harness to it. Always make sure the battery is fully disconnected. What you need to do is find what two pins on the airbag wiring to connect with the resistor to and then it will prevent the airbag light from coming on. You can also just leave it unplugged and remove the fuse but it will illuminate the SRS or airbag light on the gauge cluster. Keep in mind removing the airbag in most states is not recommended and many times illegal. All the bypass really does is prevent the warning light on the dash and keep the passenger airbag functional if you remove the one on the steering wheel.

Take it a generic code reader wasn't generating a code ? Is concur with it often being the seats and usually after hoovering...... Car not been in a bump? Another culprit is the 2 sensors near the front bumper. Seen them come undone / wiring rot

While I waited for the scanner to arrive I had unplugged and replugged all the airbags. It said it was a fault with both fronts. But it cleared and didn't come back. Might have been something like a battery voltage issue.
