Hello, YouCzhecs! I understand that You are proud. And You have a lot to be proud of! In my posession i have model engines MVVS, well made and performing well. I also have a ZC 455 Amerivan rifle,22 lr, and i just love it! To day it simple, You are clever!

Nice to see some real flying and not just PR material and Airshows. Very beautiful pictures of the Icelandic landscape. Also the paint on the canards and tail fin is a nice touch. Also thanks for the patrolling gotta keep dem sky's safe!

Gripen is so easy to service and support. You can change the engine in the field in just about one hour!

This sounds astonishing, but i have heard conscripts (one) tell they were changing the engine in the old J32 Lansen in the field in just the same time. It really looks like the standard for Swedish Air Force.

Unnþór Helgi Helgason Czech government approved the request of the NATO for air policing mission in Iceland in terms of 07-08 / 2015.Czechs will back.

Very nice. The JAS-39 seems to be a very well-thought out air system. I am sure Brazil will do well with their 100 or so. With Russia acting up like the Cold War should be restarted, policing the skies in Europe is so important.

Can there be any doubt that this is the plane that Canada should choose? I want so badly to see 200+ JAS-39E Super Gripens with RCAF roundels on them!!! WTF is my government doing getting those shitty "Super Hornets" instead of these as interim fighters?

Short answer,no. A big part is probably Islandic base personal that operates the airbase. Check Janes defence report here. Lowest maintenance of all fighters. www.stratpost.com/gripen-operational-cost-lowest-of-all-western-fighters-janes

Alexander Zheliazkov Cz Air Force sent 50 people to Island. Modern jets are complex operation , from the maintenance of machines, to armament to operating ground facilities. Saying that, 10 or 15 planes would need same number of people to operate. There is just a 'fixed cost' in terms of people you need.

I know it's a over three year old comment, but anyway. Sweden participated in Red Flag 2006 with 7 Gripen fighters and 90 people, which included 12 pilots, 35 maintenance technicians and the rest were forward air controllers and security. So you wouldn't need 66 to operate 3 Gripen.

So the Czech air force has 14 gripens like Hungary does but Czechos also protect Iceland. Thats very generous Edit: yeah we huns protect Slovenia but its closer and smaller
