    Never heard of you or air layering. You randomly popped up in recommended and your thumbnail seemed interesting enough. But within the first minute I’m hooked. Your enthusiasm is palpable. And now I’ve got a whole new treasure trove of videos filled with information to learn from. Looking forward to the journey. I’m on the precipice of my next life adventure. Just bought a reasonably large chunk of land (40 acres+-) in east Tn, 1/3 pasture the rest woodland, beautifully sloping with a phenomenal view of a mountain range. Most all of it south facing. Planning on planting a small fruit and nut tree orchard. Grew up in rural WVa moved to Georgia at age 10 and now 30+ years later heading back to the country. Been a long time coming and man am I ready. It’s not very often we get to be excited for good things in this crazy, messed up world right now. But finding you just now, well sir finding your channel kinda feels like opening a gift. Looking forward to it. Sub me up and notify me! Cheers.

    @Rico Grande ooooooo Germany. Another location on my bucket list. Some of my ancestry comes from Germany. Every few years I get a wild hair and just have to get out and go. 2 years ago it was Scotland, which is also where some of my ancestry originates, 5 weeks by myself. I travel off season and on my own. Completely on my own, I do the research, I book the locations and the vehicles, no help from no one. When I went to Scotland my phone stopped working and I didn’t have gps. It was awesome! Whoops. Sorry about that. Got excited when the thought of traveling popped up. Thank you for noticing my comment. I am seriously going to try this technique of air layering though. There are a bunch of old trees on the family homestead that I would love to take cuttings from. And before I watched this guy’s videos I couldn’t think of a viable way to make that happen. And he seems genuinely excited about what he’s doing and that he gets to share it with people. Slightly off topic …… actually totally off topic, what is the general view of what is happening in the world right now? You know, with the coronavirus and Afghanistan and Biden? How is Germany viewing the USA? If you don’t mind me asking.

  • @bahmdiggity9577

    @bahmdiggity9577

    2 жыл бұрын

    @Rico Grande Thank you for taking the time to respond. I think most Americans are at the point of not trusting anything we see on mass media. So if I get the opportunity to ask someone from somewhere else, then I do. The majority of Americans are embarrassed by our current administration. We find it very hard to believe that he won the election. We are humiliated by the state in which our country has been thrust into by asinine decisions made from the moment this clown show set foot in the Oval Office. The majority of us can’t believe that the rioting and take over of major cities by thugs has been allowed to continue. And most of us are hoping that the rest of the world doesn’t pounce, what with being given the perfect chance to mow over such a weak and feeble ‘leader’ (I use that term loosely). I think everyone knew it was past time to leave the Middle East and Trump had set up as smooth a departure as one could hope to. Byedone, purposefully ignored the agreements and taunted the terrorist organization on national television then went on vacation. The fact that he removed the military in one fell swoop while leaving behind a multi billion dollar military complex and all American citizens really pisses off every single one of us. How can such a nincompoop be allowed any power? Before this he threw open the gates at the southern border, amidst a global pandemic, and created a humanitarian crisis. Honestly, we’re all just hoping that he doesn’t completely destroy everything we have and stand for before we can get him out. Sorry for writing a novel. There’s a lot more I could get into but I think I’ve probably already said too much. Again. Thank you for corresponding with me. Best of luck to you and all your gardening/horticultural adventures. Cheers.

Every year his christmas gift to us was his own "McMahon" pecans. My fondest memories of my grandfather were picking pecans with him. My grandmother still owns the property, but has since moved away. Now, my brother and I will be able to carry on his tradition and keep his spirit alive. Thank you so much brother. And can't wait to see more of your videos. God bless you man. I love this! My land has a lot of pecan trees, but most of the younger ones are growing out in the tall weeds. This would let me transplant large branches up closer to the house where I want them!

    Someone years ago tried to kill my dad's magnolia trees by removing the bark like you did. I held my breath watching you. But he saved his trees using rooting compound and wrapping them. I just never knew we could start new trees that way. Air layering... that's now a must for me! Thanks!

    Thank you for this one Lead Farmer 73. I have a tree that my grandad planted for me when I was born. 1973 After he died the property changed hands and now I want to go to the new owners and try and get them to let me do this to a branch that grows nuts. If that don’t work, I’ll go to the neighbor and ask if I can do it to an overhanging branch. Then once it roots I will move it to my new property and plant it for my granddaughter
