I probably would love the Air force even more today, than 40+ years ago! But believe me, films like this, I shed a tear or two! I'm not crying, you're crying! lol... BMT AT LACKLAND! ,IS to this day, was one of the best experiences of my life! nbs.

I started BMT in November 10, 1972...one of the best decisions I ever made. I would felt the same way...whether it was the Marines, Navy, Army, or Coast Guard.

28 years USAF Retired. Sorry, but we didn't have any of this fun stuff when I graduated from the (then) 3702nd (Second to None) BMTS in May 1980. Congratulations to all the new Airmen of the greatest Air Force on Earth!

I actually prefer that. I’m joining, but find the graduation strange because I’m not close with my family at all. Do people who have no family just stand there until night time? Or are they allowed to leave....

When I graduated, in August of 19**, it was 105 F on the parade ground and guys were dropping like flies. But I was 17 yo and in tip top shape. I served my 4 years and got out. Looking back, the time I spent in the Air Force was time very well spent. I got out because I was ready to control my own life. Enjoy your time in the service, it goes by so fast.

@@obamabarrack7258 It wasn't hard, just do as your told and if you want to be a good airman volunteer for the positions you want, the hardest thing was probably just trying to appease the MTIs during inspection. Id give it a 7.5/10, since everything is a team effort and some people want to be independant which can be good unless they are selfish within their independence. :)

Brenden Chermok I really appreciate you responding bro. I would really like to airmen in the security forces or some other field. I guess I’m nervous about how bmt will play if I do go. Just that no thinks I can go through it, not even my own family so yea. Thanks I’m going to trying to get in shape and talk to my local recruiter.

@@obamabarrack7258 Live the way you want bro, if others think you can't do it just do it to prove them wrong, and don't go SecFo unless its something you really wanna do. try looking at every job you qualify for there are some I got that I didn't even know existed as a job and they are pretty cool. Just try, succeed, and win. I look forward to have a wingman by my side with that kinda drive. Fly! Fight! Win!

No. For graduation there are 2 days worth. Day one (this one) is the run, and the coining ceremony. Then you get released for retreat with your family. Whats odd though is in 2011, we were in our Blues for the coining. Day 2 is where you do your graduation march on the parade grounds and to officially be called an Airmen.

Those T.I.s did a shitty job of folding the flag. When I went through back in the 90s only took 2 of us to fold the flag and we did it perfect, they should be a shamed of that sloppy folding job. Also we didn't wear BDUs to graduation, we wore dress blues.
