Air Canada Boeing 777-200LR Vancouver (YVR) 🇨🇦 to Sydney (SYD) 🇦🇺 {Full Flight Report}
This was the second leg of our journey to Australia. This, therefore, was a connection flight out of Vancouver, British Columbia. We arrived at the airport at night. The airport was very quiet and we were limited in terms of time and the area of the airport to film. Therefore some plane spotting was not able to be done. However, you will get the sense of a late connection flight and the anticipation of jumping on a flight that will cross the north and south pacific. It is a dark night and this does affect the filming out of a plane window. However I get some great shots of our exit out of Vancouver and great shots of Honolulu all lit up at night. We get a beautiful sunrise following us as we approach the continent of Australia and pass various islands thru the south Pacific.
We are flying Air Canada's Boeing 777-200LR straight to Sydney on this flight. This is a great flight that Air Canada provides as there is no layover in Honolulu or the south Pacific islands. The flight distance is 12,487km. We flew this distance in just over 15 hours. Of course this jet can easily cover the distance in one shot without even being full of fuel. Our particular seats were very comfortable for economy seats which you should expect of an airline flying you this far. On this particular flight we did experience light turbulence for about 80% of the trip even though the skies were fairly clear the entire way.
This is an amazing craft and their service speaks to their many awards they have received in the airline industry.

I wish that I had been able to capture more of it. YVR has one of the most dynamic airport wildlife management programs in the world. It is truly a hub that connects people to the world.

I have a lot of feelings and memories on that flight or route. I was in Sydney last time in 2017 when i saw C-FNNH sailing in on a nice sunny morning. Then one week later i saw the same 772 LR rolling to the runway for that ultra long haul flight and finally when i checked in for my trip back home to Europe ( 16450 km ) we had AC 34 next to us for Check in to Vancouver. Finally we had C-FNND next to our jet when we boarded for Singapore. Last but not least i think that Vancouver and Sydney are the two most beautiful cities on our globe. Luckily i saw both of them already.

I'm from Vancouver and now live in Australia. YVR is the most beautiful airport I've ever seen and I've been to many. Taking this flight in August in Premium Economy (unless I can upgrade to Signature Class). It's a long flight, so upgrading makes sense if the price is still right! Great video!

Came back to Melb from a Canada holiday recently, and i'll have to do Vancouver>Syd or Brisbane instead of transiting through the US. Ticket was cheaper, but US customs are such a pain, it wasn't worth the hassle with them.

Would be exciting starting your morning in a distant country after flying all night. What time of year was this? Not sure I could handle 15 hours unless I had a business class seat.

Hi there, I’m taking this exact flight in a couple weeks. How was the turbulence? I heard it can get pretty bad over Hawaii and it lasts a while.

Enjoy the flight! Yes we experienced turbulence about 80 percent of the flight. It was a little annoying they couldn't serve hot drinks the whole way there, even at breakfast. However, for crossing the ocean to Australia it was awesome. Cheers

What did it feel like flying over the Pacific for 99% of the flight?? Much turbulence at all?? I usually fly between UAE/Qatar - Melbourne and 75% of the flight is over the Indian Ocean, where there is always light turbulence. But being in an A380 is much more comfortable than a 777-200LR.

ya this flight is turbulent 80% of the trip. It was light but is felt a little more in the tail of the plane which is where we were sitting. I have yet to fly the A380...hope to eventually...cheers
