Aion Classic EU 2.4 - PVP Crit Strike versus Attack. What to socket?

Ойындар

I executed a test in order to check if one can deal more damage by socketing crit strike or attack. Find out the results in this video.

Hey dude, thank you so much for the guides you provide, they're very qualitative. May I ask you if you have some links on how to spin up a 2.X test server?

Hey man, thanks for the nice comment. You can follow this tutorial here kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZpmEscRsiK7cYs4.htmlsi=LSi3AUO-EWDc_NI0 I use dbeaver instead of Navicat and xampp to open the ports. Both are free. If you download the server files, just unzip it and run the batch files. Then when you configure dbeaver, one error will pop-up. Google the error and you will find the solution. The last thing is to find a 2.7 client. You probably have to search a bit. I think thay should do it, with some extra patience. Good lucl

there is many missing conditions to make a dps test or even a socketing reference. For example Accuracy, it is important to have a good accuracy, specially end game where you will face rangers with tons with evasion and clerics/chanters with a lot of block. Another thing, was the gladiator with enchanted armor, cuz the strike resist is very relevant to reach the crit cap. About the damage multiplier, you found out the crit is nearly double the normal dmg, but actually each type of weapon has its own damage multiplier and actually is something good to make a video about, for exemple, what is interesting to have as main and secondary weapon.

Indeed, you are correct. There are many variables playing a role at the same time. I tried to limit the analysis only to a bare minimum, and still draw some conclusions. But you are right, having a ton of attack is useless if you can't hit your enemy. Btw, I am now thinking of implementing a model to simulate the damage, including all variables. It should be doable.

Could you rerun the tests for a longer time? Because the crit percentages do not add up, your A1 and A2 sets should already give you 50% chance unless the Glad had strike resist. Remember the crit cap is 50% so 500 crit, the only way to decrease it is stike resist. Also can you share the gear on the glad? strike fortitude might also impact the overall DPS

Hey I had some problems with my laptop and the server, I once I fix it I get back to you. But I think the glad had strike resist indeed. Not sure about the actual numbers though.

@@Hapkivo Since you're testing with Private server, I suggest you test with 2.7 client, since that's when the 50% crit cap was implemented in retail, and classic is running based of that.

@lesiromanu I had a 2.7 client indeed. I need to find time to run more tests and make videos. It's time consuming and takes from the few moments I can actually play the game. :)

You tested it purely on auto attacks, now we know nothing about it is when u equate for skill dmg. Or maybe i missed something.

Hey. The damage caused by skills will be linearly added to the overall damage. You can see it in this equation. Attack damage = {(Weapon damage * [Power / 100 + % attack bonus] + Skill damage + Straight attack bonus) * OneTimeBoostSkillAttack bonus * movement modifier - opponent Defense / 10} * product of all other %-based damage bonuses I hope that clarifies your question.:)
