For non finnish folk, don't worry about the bear cub. It's not kept carelessly as a pet, it was orphaned this spring and brought to Kuusamo Large Carnivore Center, which specialices in large predators, especially bears. This guy is an expert and has been raising and caring for bears for ages. He's known as the Bear Man here.

Thank you for this information - I had already assumed this was a rescue/ sanctuary type facility. I am so glad they have such a facility to help these majestic, beautiful animals, and all animals that need help !

It's a lasting friendship they got that captures the essence of peace between man and beast.

This chubby bear has no idea how cute it is. Which makes it even cuter.

This is the life. Living in the forest, having a bear more as a friend than a pet. Really nice.

Do yourself a favour and look up orphan wildlife centre. If you like playful bears you will love the videos there.

What can be more refreshing and awesome: walking with a bear cub on a sunny day on fresh snow... you cannot buy that with all the money in the world.

This just feel like the perfect size for a bear

Goodness, she acts like a big puppy, or a kid in a giant snow suit. It's amazing how similar different species are to each other. We all want to play and be a little mischievous at times.

I’ve been to Kuusamo and seen this guy with his bears in person. It was pretty amusing seeing a huge bear eat some jam filled pastries. It was really gentle too. Very special bond between Sulo and Juuso the bear.

There're 2 kind of Finn. 1.Shout "Perkele!!!" at the bear. 2.Take a bear for a walk.

That's because it's a Finnish dog. They seem to have the same breed over the border in Russia, too. I guess it's the snow and the cold, clear air that makes them grow big and furry. ; )

It's the top of a pine or spruce trunk, so technically a log, not a branch. Doesn't diminish the cuteness of the cub.
