Of course liberal NPR would. I'm not saying she isn't and I love Aimee and her voice and her range and her singing brings so much more to a song than just words, but NPR is such a pretentious, liberal, snotty entity.

Yes - Aimee Mann is one of the best songwriters. And I feel sorry for anyone who is only capable of judging an artist by their level of commercial "success" as one commenter here ridiculously tried to do. Aimee is so loveable. Her music is so wonderful, too.

I got my first crush on Aimee when I was 11(1985). I had totally forgotten about her all these years, I see this and I still love her presence ❤️ 💕. She's such a great presence 💖. I love metal btw. Accept when it comes to anything Amy!

Love her and her talent too... Big fan since mid 80's when I was in my college years up to today... I empathize with her cause of abuses growing up into adulthood and it's recognition herewith. . .

Thanks for posting that. Aimee Mann is so loveable, & her songwriting & singing talent are so wonderfulo, too. I'm not sure if you meant that you were abused growing up, but if so, my heart SO goes out to you on that & to everyone who was ever abused as a little one, or as a kid. Anyways, when it comes to Aimee Mann, you have good taste in people & in music.

Brains, Beauty and Humor! Not to mention incredible songwriter! I do love hearing her rant on the record companies. Dealing with those shysters just sounds horrible.

Aimee Mann’s problem is that she is too smart and probably thinks too much. Which is also what makes her great. It’s funny cause I became a fan of hers through Bachelor No. 2., actually, by way of Magnolia I guess. That was 20 years ago. Love that album. I been on a big 80s kick and A couple months ago I got into Til Tuesday. I never listened to them before and knew none of their stuff. My jaw literally hit the floor. It sort of blew my mind and I’m still processing it. Voices Carry is like Satisfaction or something. It’s a monster record. Welcome Home is like a perfect album too. Not sure why she buried her 80s stuff but it’s brilliant - and timely again too!

Same here! I mean about getting into 'Til Tuesday a bit late, but how great to discover such music, right?! And 80s music could really be awesome. Love that sound. And you're so right to say "or something" about 'Voices Carry' because that song has a certain something that, who knows exactly what it is, but as a song it's so satisfying, & it's 'wow.'
