Sir while going from Gujranwala to Pasroor in the year 1979 my beloved dad showed me especially ruins of an abandend town on the left side of the road near vIllage Wandhala Sandhuuan.I was only of 11years of age at that time.I still remembered there were plaetu type small sized hills and there were ruins of walls at that time. There were abundants of old bricks parts brick stones parts of clay pots ceramic parts and other things.I also remembered one small dome shaped building. My father had told me something about its history which had totally washed out from my memory. Please give us information about this.

A bit of trivia... Leyland was bought by Hinduja Group and it was renamed Ashok Leyland. It is still a major heavy automobile manufacturing player in India making buses and all.

Very Good
This can easily become a hotel or guest house for people needing a break from city life, if advertised properly

Thank you very much.
Kalabagh dam should be built, it's very necessary for us as a nation,
It is our severe tough luck that we couldn't accomplish this great job!! Had it been commissioned, we wouldn't have not faced load shedding in our country. Many attempts were made by WAPDA authorities, renowned civil engineers & experts to annual baseless notions but to no avail. Ultimately, Kalabagh Dam Project was disbanded!!
Lovely narration...vaise aise jagah aashik jodo ke liye bhadiya rahti hai.. Aur kismat jayda kharab ho to sharabi, charsio ke liye jannat ban kar rah jati hai.😂

Lekin yehan na ashik log hai na sharabi. Yehan sirf veerani hai.😀
The abandoned houses should be handed to the homeless. Heavy machinery like this can be found all along the RCD highway. What pity. And when a new project will be started, then millions will be spent on buying new machinery. Our mindset.

Sir We have Ashok Leyland in India who manufactures trucks.

Very unfortunate to see the wastage of resources, both money & material. Kalabagh dam became controversial, some politicians used scare tactics to derail its development. Not sure what exactly the impact its development would have had, but it’s for sure that the dam became the casualty of politics. The upstream dams being built currently like Daimer, bhasha, etc, are all in the Earthquake zones.

Basha Dam is being built on a double fault line created by what geologists know as Dasu Island. It is a certain recipe for disaster. But who cares. Surely, the more disasters in Pakistan, the more foreign aid money.
Wooden structures i.e. doors, windows etc have disappeared thanks to Afghan refugees. Some afghans, with the collusion of local guards and officials, have occupied relatively intact quarters. Cable way, steel structures and rusted machinery were intact as of 2014. Yes Nawab Muzaffar Khan was killed in the vicinity as this area falls within the estate of Kalabagh. They have a private game reserve with numerous deer, urials and other species of mountain goats. Khattak tribe is in abundance in the neighborhood on both cis and trans-indus tracts. Legend has it that a khattak boy shot a deer enraging Muzaffar Khan who got the boy killed. Resultantly there was a Khattak revolt that shook the very foundations of Kalabagh estate. They were aided and abetted by their kinsmen in the neighbouring Kohat and Karak districts. Awan volunteers gathered on the appeal of Nawab family. Coincidentally, elections of 1988 resulted in the establishment of PPP in the centre while IJI's Nawaz Sharif clinched Punjab's CM ship. Benazir wanted haughty and stiff-necked Muzaffar to be the governor of Punjab to give tough time to Nawaz Sharif. Governorship in those days was a prized post with authority. Sharifs allegedly hatched a plan along with other stakeholders and got Muzaffar assasinated. This further intensified the ongoing local conflict. Government deployed paramilitary units to diffuse the situation.
