One of the reasons they can be pros is they have the circulatory system that allows them to climb when most people would have numb fingers. From my experience ( climbing since 66); in The US it was the climbers who realized they could climb harder in cold temps that helped the transition to 5.13 occur so quickly after 5.12 ( with John Stannard-; who was climbing year round- in The Gunks: having put up 5 10+/1s that later got upgraded to 12s

A while ago, Adam Ondra mentioned that his fingernails cover the very tips of his fingers so that no flesh 'squishes' out in front. Maybe this really helps stability and contact strength on extremely crimpy moves. Any sports science researchers want to get the calipers out?

Putting socks on so you don't go walking off the pad, now that's a tactic I never knew I needed but I do! Also what is the name of this boulder? The title says Serendipity and both the video (0:38) and the description say Serindipity. A bit of searching on google tells me it's probably Serendipity but this is not the first time I've seen it spelled the other way. Great vid
