pretty much factual, actually. That gemstone Great Britain was hiding in the carton is the Kohinoor diamond, that was taken/stolen/looted/obtained from India and was set in the Queen Mother's Crown. It's displayed in the Tower of London where it sits pretty as a part of the Crown Jewels. And yes, hangings were pretty common back in the days as well as the other things mentioned.

This myth is so old, actually a couple of countries could lay claim kohinoor diamond, however it did come from india it has been passed around, Britain didn’t steal it, a maharaja gave it as a gift to queen Victoria.

Here are some of the references: India split into India and Pakistan soon after Independence hence the other guy there. The speech in the middle was mocking at ourselves since those were some of the things that eventually did go onto happen, putting students in jail, shooting own civilians etc...And the speech itself is a direct reference to Tryst with Destiny, a famous speech by Jawaharlal Nehru, our first prime minister soon after Independence. Shooting in the garden with no exits was a reference to an incident called Jalianwala Bhag massacre where more than 1000 peaceful protesters were shot inside a garden which had only one exit by the British under General Dyer's orders. And when he says, Again with the Salt. It was one of the civil disobedience movements started by Gandhi called salt satyagraha. We were essentially not allowed to make salt, and the British had monopolized it. So Gandhi and many others had marched to a place called Dandi and had made salt there as a protest.

when Britain says , "call me Raj" ... it's actually making two points... First, Raj is a Hindi word which means rule, kingdom, empire. Thus, it was taken into the British dictionary to imply the British Empire. They called themselves British Raj in India. Second, Raj is a very popular Indian name for boys. And SRK in most of his films have played the role of a romantic lover boy with the name Raj and in all such films it's exactly the way he used to introduce himself to his love interest. Also, all of his romantic films are shot in western countries. Implying the lust of Britain for India and the love hate relationship where we hate them for oppressing us and on the other hand love Cricket, Shakespare, parliamentary system of politics which are all taken from British culture. I am not sure, if this is exactly what the script writer was thinking but that's my interpretation.

Well, you clearly haven't been paying attention since childhood then. The British did not wage a war to acquire the Kohinoor, so it is definitely not an item of loot. The last Maharajah of Punjab, Duleep Singh, was made to forcefully "gift" the diamond to Queen Victoria. The aforesaid Maharajah happened to be a grand old man of eleven years at the time, and was a ward of an English vicar who approved all his decisions. For those who didn't get the Britain's "Call me...Raj." In India the British Rule was called British Raj, Rule literally translating to "Raj". And the pun is that there is a very famous and loved Bollywood movie that had the male lead called "Raj" and he had a famous dialogue that goes "Raj, you must've heard my name". And that's the pun with British "Raj" and the "Raj" from the movie. Hope that helps.

i was only watching " jolie robinson" ...WoW.. its a treat to watching her .

Omg watching this after becoming a history student just hurts my brain 😭 Indians didn't even commit sati. The dominant religion of Hindustan (hinduism) did NOT agree upon oppression of people of different sexualities and genders. The child marriage thing....well I'm not so sure if Britishers even had any hand in that. All the "gifts" and technologies that Britishers provided us inorder to "develop" ourselves, like the railways and other communication lines, were merely for the sake of fulfilling their own purpose. We would've developed on our own, certainly in a better and non-violent manner, have we had independence and not coaxed by the cruel policies of the colonizers. If anything they only degraded us and our culture. Also, the partition thing....well I completely believe it was a British product of revenge. Muslims were in no insecure position at the time of independence but the colonizers propagated the agenda and opportunists conveniently grabbed onto the opportunity. Y'all know who I'm talking about. Again, not saying that Gandhi or Nehru were saints but-

Basic funda on his channel: get a girl or two get drunk React give opinions have fun People are literally begging these channels ‘please react to this movie’, ‘I have requested this movie so many times’. It's a really sad state of affairs because to put it bluntly these people really don't give a rat’s arse about us or our movies. What if the tables were turned? And the video title read ‘Indian reviewing Hollywood movie’.. Do you really think anyone from the West would give a a tinker’s cuss about it? On the brighter side if you will, contrary to popular belief, we Indians are actually providing employment to people like Jaby.

It was mesmerising and violent at the same time. Everything seemed fair until mughals invaded. Atleast british brought some development. Mughals brought here extremism. Which ultimately led to Pakistan.

For those without context, the speech at 5:09 is a reference to an actual speech on 14 August, 1947, midnight by India's first prime minister Nehru. Then it became a dig at the current political situation in India. The student jailings were actual incidents.. Just love the skilled satire of AIB..

Don't be so confused, he said "call me Raj" because of the British Raj, don't look so inspired during his speech, every single thing he's saying is a contradiction because all those horrible things happened in India. "We will not discriminate on basis of religion, ethnicity and skin colour... we will be FAIR and LOVELY (a skin bleaching cream that sells millions in India where everyone wants to be a little fairer) ... guess it wouldn't look that great if foreigners were laughing at jokes of India being self-deprecating...

lol, no he didn't go to jail but some people really wanted him to be in. it's cool now though. And in the end..the diamond was the Kohinoor which was taken away from India and embedded into the crown of the queen and its still there, its been in the news recently with Indian Government trying to get it back from them and Britain straight up refusing to let go of it. Lasty, "Call me Raj" that's like a famous line from Shahrukh Khan movies where he is mostly named "Raj" or "Rahul" and also the "British Rule" was called "British Raj" in India.
