Harper Reed, a startup founder and entrepreneur, shares his experience of creating an office space that is filled with sensors and triggers, which he uses to generate humorous and annoying messages using Large Language Models (LLMs). He passes JSON data from various sensors, such as weather stations and environmental monitors, into the LLM to generate daily updates and humorous comments about the office environment. Harper also uses a multimodal model to incorporate security camera footage, allowing the system to make humorous observations about people in the office. The system is open-source and can be used by others to create their own annoying office space.
Harper Reed is a technologist and entrepreneur with a diverse background. He worked for World Book Publishing, Threadless, and Obama for America, and founded Modest, acquired by Braintree. He joined PayPal as a Senior Director and now serves as CEO of General Galactic Corporation and fellowships at USC Annenberg Innovation Lab and MIT Media Lab.
