Datacenters are built only after careful planning of available energy vs expected load. Furthermore, for remote big datacenters, their rooftops, parking lot and adjacent farmlands area can support large amounts of solar power for onsite generation. Onsite generation actually *unloads* the grid. Any excess power generated would also support the local grid during those times of surplus. AI will actually end up fueling the expansion of the grid assuming continued increasing consumer, commercial, government and scientific interest in it. Ultimately, AI's growth will be limited by the amount of energy available to it. But maybe it can even figure more efficient methods for itself by then!

So our brains are doing more complex sophisticated thinking on the energy of a potato chip, but these massive data centers need power on the order of vast amounts of energy needed by huge office buildings?
