AI Filmmaker Warning: Don’t Make THIS Mistake
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In a world first, Washed Out ( @realwashedout ) has just dropped their new music video for the track "The Hardest Part" and it was made using 100% Sora, Open AI's much-anticipated new generative AI video tool.
It's a great video, but for filmmakers embracing AI for their projects, there's an important warning about relying too heavily on AI tools like SORA as a way to entertain and dazzle your audience.
In this video, I introduce some core fundamentals of entertainment success, Surprise, and Emotion.

0:16 Don't get hung up focusing on "quality", it's a red herring... here's why.
1:22 The AI Tool is NOT the secret weapon, your CREATIVITY is.
1:59 Surprise & Emotion - The REAL secret to Superstar success.
3:17 The DANGERS of the "Monty Python Effect"
5:23 The most important tool in an AI Filmmakers toolbox... HUMAN CREATIVITY

First off, the song is amazing. As for the video, I'm blown away. It's just as you said. It serves to bring out emotion. Anyone can make junk ai videos. But this one tells a story, so many scenes, so many emotions and memories. It made me feel the song. This doesn't replace art, it's a new art

Agree entirely. AI is a tool for creatives to use, not a tool to replace them.
Thank you. I've been saying this from the very beginning, but it's great to have a quality presenter like you saying this. Human creativity will be needed till the end of time. Human creativity will always be king, in any medium. In any era. And AI can and will be a tool for creative people to take their creativity to a whole new level. The only generic AI work is the ones made by people who were never creative to begin with. AI is a tool, and the best part about it, it will always be an option. I've been a writer for decades, and my dream was always to bring my vision to life. The time to surf is upon us all. And I'm totally ready. Thanks again for this video, you hit the message out of the park.

Hey, thanks very much indeed. I honestly, really appreciate the feedback and support. It's really reassuring for me when I get feedback from writers and creatives who are looking at AI as a new tool that will get their creativity and imagination more freedom and possibility than ever before. Looking forwards to seeing where your journey takes you as well :-)
You read my mind. THANK YOU for making this channel. Its exactly what the film industry and all the aspiring AI film makers need to hear. Novelty wears off, but human creativity inspires forever.

Thanks very much. Human creativity, absolutely. AI is shaping up to be a great tool, but the more I’m using it, the more I can see where it’s humanity is missing.
Very well said!

Exactly! Novelties wear off, especially if you’re doing the same thing and using the same tools with the same thinking as everybody else.
also this isn't even a "world first" music video. There have been people doing this for years already. Even a hilarious meme rapper like Glorb has been doing incredible stuff with AI. Look up him bozo

Sorry, I should have been clearer, I meant it’s the first time that Sora has been used to create a music video. The creator worked with OpenAI to make this entirely with Sora, which hasn’t been released to the public yet. I should have made that clearer.
I know new technologies keep coming but how can someone like you support this kind of technology that affects the very survival of human beings. That's right, Ai can help the average person make creative videos. But even for a single shot shown in this, how many people's hard work will be required in real life, and for that hard work, the salary they received was not the one that took their family to the front. Taking several industries forward. A lot of good things for human society happen in the income generated by such industries as a whole. Not saying to oppose it... but not to encourage it.

It’s true, I think, that this technology will have a massive disrupting affect. The bigger the innovation, the bigger the ripple effect. Most change is slow and incremental, so the disruption often goes unnoticed, but yes, this one will probably make great, click-bait headlines for years to come. But consider this… humanity will run out of jobs to do when humanity has solved all its problems. So, the real question is, has humanity come close to solving all its problems yet? In fact, is AI likely to solve all of our problems? As long as people have problems, there are opportunities for somebody to solve those problems, be valuable to humanity and earn a living (in one way or another). The reality is, life in the 21st century demands that all of us are willing and prepared to change entire industries several times in our working lives. As far as I can see, the AI wave is coming whether we like it or not, agree with it or not, or are ready for it or not. We don’t really have any choice about that or any control, but the thing we CAN control and the choice we CAN make, is whether to sit on the beach and be wiped out by the wave, or pick up a surfboard and learn to surf… as fast as we can.

@@Amal-hl5gy I honestly do feel for everybody who shares your worries and concerns, you're certainly not alone. The good news is, for filmmakers, writers, directors and actors with big imaginations and huge stories to tell, this will hopefully be trigger-point that will allow them to bring their big visions to life and share them with a wider audience 🙂
my head hurts trying to process the ai video it's horrible

I know what you mean. To be honest, all the best uptempo music videos are calculated to cut shots every 1-2 seconds, but this moves too fast for you to be able to have a hope of following the narrative. Hard to believe, I know, but there is actually a narrative that threads it all together, it’s just really hard to follow.
