Ahsoka Review Disney Star Wars Gets WORSE - Season 1 Episode 7 Dave Filoni's Failure

Ойын-сауық

Ahsoka Review of Season 1 Epsiode 7 Disney Star Wars live action Rebels sequel from Dave Filoni. Episode 7 features Ahsoka arriving in a space Whale. Disney+ Star Wars has Sabine meeting Ezra and fighting Balen while dodging Thrawns minions. The characters drive you up the wall, the plot holes are tears in space and everyone acts like they are in Momento. But don't worry, C3PO makes a cameo and so does Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker. Is Ahsoka worth watching on Disney+?

Ahsoka Review of Season 1 Episode 7 if you wanted a show that makes no sense have I got the show for you! Every character is insufferable, we've got hero's engaging in perjury and blatantly engaging in corrupt leadership. Sabine and Ezra fight with turtles while Ezra decides weapons aren't needed in a fight. Ahsoka turns up in a whale and finds the first minefield that doesn't do any damage to anything! What a great invention! On top of all of this, they've ruined thrawn. He's useless at everything comes up with terrible plans and always gets defeated. THIS is who we are meant to be scared of for a whole season?! What an absolute mess. But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

He hits all main points necessary to illustrate how shit each episode is. You do that, but more comprehensively. You, him, and Grizzy are what I look forward to with each new Ahsoka dumpster fire. Almost a shame there's only one episode left to eviscerate and roast... then again, Acolyte is up next, and is likely to be total rubbish too.

6:22 okay... Do the writers know what court-martial means??? If Leia was that important that only her sanction can override a court martial, isn't she supposed to be here ??? They supposed to know all these... Why are they acting like Leia is the god of the military or something and if she sanctions something, then it's legal??? That's not how that works... They'll both be on trial... Plus this is she hulk all over again, you don't interrupt a court-martial, you don't even start up one without all the evidences...

If I recall the original Thrawn trilogy correctly (SPOILERZ), Thrawn was essentially unbeatable in any military encounter and was only defeated because Leia's diplomatic skills managed to indirectly turn his most trusted bodyguard against him. He should not be getting things wrong like this.

Yep. Leia managed to turn a tribe of warrior aliens he used as bodyguards against him due to her being the daughter of Vader, who they used to serve. There was NO WAY anyone could have predicted or guessed this piece of info, and this is what makes the Thrawn Trilogy so good - all pieces fit with each other and with the OT.

There was also the group of smugglers showing up on the battlefield at just the right time to mess with Thrawn's plans. He successfully bluffed where his attack would land. As such, a group of smugglers figured they choose the time of the Big Battle to rob a spaceport in a different system. You know, use the nearby battle as a nice distraction. Except Thrawn was always planning to hit that spaceport, and the smugglers wound up in the middle of a warzone. Their disruption allowed the NR forces to keep that spaceport and was one of the deciding factors of the war. Which, on top of the betrayal, lead to Thrawn's defeat. I just love how Thrawn's plan successfully failed. His feint worked, but it worked TOO well and it contributed to his defeat in a completely unforeseeable way.

Novel Thrawn was so cool and intriguing. Always two steps ahead of everyone and so chill about his schemes, he turned out be too clever for his own benefit and if Pellaeon had expressed his doubts about the Noghri perhaps Thrawn would've won. Such a compelling character.

For some reason the Night Sisters found Ahsoka only when she used the Force to find Sabine. That way it was aritten, it was implied that they tapped into the Force and Ahsoka gave her location up when she used the Force, same as when you are making a phone call, you get triangulated, which they literally did using the 3 balls (whoever came up with that idea needs to be fired). Ezra probably never used the Force, so the Sisters couldn't track him. But still, Thrawn says in episode 6 that he has intel on Ezra's "latest whereabouts", which means he was tracking him in some way, but probably felt Ezra was not important, because he couldn't do anything to hurt him at that point, so it didn't make sense to commit any resources to killing him, and potentially get some his troopers killed in the process.

This is in stark contrast to everyone else in this show, so one can assume once Feloni deemed it is finally time to let Ezra do something the actor took over.

There are many damning things that can be said about modern story telling from Hollywood, but the one that irritates me the most is how it is often obvious how the writers own lack of morality and principle shows thru in the scripts. The opening scene has an insubordinate general who disobeyed direct orders mouth off to the leaders of the New Republic, only to get bailed out by another punishable offense in the form of a lie. The show treats this like justice was done. The worst part is a senator can’t sanction a military operation AFTER the operation has been completed. That’s not how TIME works. These writers are both immoral and moronic.

For those that don't know, Veers was the guy he came to report to Vader of Hoth's planetary shield, and tried to explain Ozzels reasoning for why, but Vader interrupted him which was him telling Veers not to cover for Ozzel's blunder. Also for the Rebels, they had General Madine who organized the assault team on the shield generator on the Endor moon. You don't see Madine taking part of the attack on the Death Star. And for those that point to General Odanna from episode 4 who was in command of the attack on the Death Star, I think Generals have jurisdiction over starfighters placed over their watch. So instead of think Army, Air Force, Navy. Think the starfighters placement like back in WW2 where the Army and Navy had their own Air Forces attached and under their jurisdiction like with the US and Japan. Idk how Star Wars ranks work (especially in the New Republic chain of command) but usually Admirals are for Navy (or in this case, spaceships) while Generals are for ground troops (Army, Air Force and Marines, for reference). In the US military, Admirals and Generals are the same pay grades and the Navy is the only outlier. I assume in science fiction/fantasy they want a system that integrates both but it's just a little confusing without seeking out supplemental material that explains how this rank structure and chain-of-command works. I just wanna know if the Empire or New Republic have military branches, just to clear things up a little.

The 'Leia signed off on this' is pretty absurd; even if part of the military (or at least the bit that Hera's supposedly running) answers directly to a Senate committee, it follows that that's the committee she'd've been talking to and getting called in front of the whole time... and has notably not included Senator Organa among its members.

The reason he was feared in the EU is because he commanded the full might of the remaining quarter of the entire Empire . In this stupid timeline, the Empire is *gone* except for some super-secret "New Order" that "the Emperor" assembles where it is entirety hidden from everyone else. Why would the New Republic be so terrified of a commander that everyone thought was dead, and that has *no forces to command?* This idiotic storyline makes absolutely zero sense. But now its gotten worse because there is even more evidence that she never bothers to mention. A new major point of the story, was R2DWho almost got them all killed so it could fully scan the Ring. The pure existence of an armed force doing such things would require a reaction from the republic, no matter how is pulling the strings. Still, it doesn't explain why she went back to such a lowly title, given the needs of her people and her rank in the rebellion. Or why this transitional government is so eager to re-implement what doomed the first Republic... but gross incompetence is becoming the clear answer for that one.

As an artist (drawing) and a writer, I can say I've written something one day and feel unsure about it, but the next day I can see it more clearly because I've had time away from it, and can better judge it. To be generous to that guy, he could be talking about that general situation of writing something and being insecure about it, assuming it's bad, only to read it the next day and see you were too hard on yourself. Not so much for drawing though. I can see the flaws immediately as the medium is visual. Writing typically takes longer reflection, especially in a lengthy narrative. You can write something that in isolation is good, but it doesn't fit into the rest of your story, so you have to scrap it. I can't say I've ever thought something was HOT garbage one day but GREAT the next. At most I've had a bad writing session, but the next day I see good pieces in the mess I can pick out, polish, and use. Over the years I've gotten faster at judging my writing, and can more easily see in the moment whether what I have is good or not. Overall, I can't give the benefit of the doubt to many writers in the TV/movie industry nowadays; from the writer of Antman to Rian Johnson to writers of various TV shows, I've seen them all express initial doubts about their scripts in commentaries, only to sweep those doubts aside with various flimsy excuses, not to mention outright dismissing others' critiques or pushback. There's this general sense the craft of writing doesn't matter as long as you accomplish your vision of the story or the characters, or as long as you elicit emotion from viewers. It doesn't matter how you get to your plot points (contrivances), or how you excite emotions in your audience (member-berries), it just matters that you get there.

It's funny the bearded monk didn't take the light saber, but later picked up a blaster during fight. Grand Unadmirable Prawn pretends to be a master strategist but everything he does seems to help out his enemies aiding in their escape. Grandma Soka training looked like a stiff board moving through molasses. 3PO's cameo was boring and while he handed them some data chip, we never got to see what's on. So basically they took an androids word that Leigh approved the mission. Oh....and yes, Punk Rock Girl is the worst actress on TV. No emotion while in a gun battle fighting for her life. Deliberately blocking blaster shot with her beskar armor as a Jedi with a light saber. Darth Poodle looked lost after the fight only to have Grandma Soka offer her a hand to help. She runs away like a teen being put on punishment by their parents instead sticking around and continue the fight like Darth Maul in the Phantom Menance. One more thing, Grandma Soka ship was being attacked by three fighters for half the episode and never received any damage! This show is horrible and seems it was created to target 5-12 year olds with elementary dialogues and powder puff fight scenes.

Both Ahsoka and The Mandalorian unintentionally highlight why a Mandalorian with a Lightsaber would be absolutely terrifying. They're one of the very few people who can grapple and use their entire body in a lightsaber dual which allows them to use several tactics closed to most while being able to exploit their opponent. For context, if you took this into reality it would essentially be a unarmored knight fighting a fully armored knight. Automatic win? No, but a SIGNIFICANT advantage especially when dealing with a weapon where all you really have to do is touch the other person with it, now it's a MASSIVE advantage.

After Gary pointed out the 3 second pauses between actions and dialogue, I can't unsee it!!! Every single time, I'm counting to 3 in my head.

Wait, C3PO says he was programmed a certain way? But in the Solo movie it was shown that Droids are just one bolt away from being fully sentient. What gives, Disney? Not like they'd eeeeeeever just ignore shit established in previous works within the exact same setting, right?

Droids having a sense of free will is something Disney can't possibly handle in the long term. That's why every movie, show, and or book handles them slightly different every time.

Its an ongoing problem with Star Wars that using sensor logs as proof only comes up in the EU - it would really have helped in The Phantom Menace, for example - but that doesn't excuse continuing it.

You missed a trick. When Ashoka said "he was a good master" you should have remembered that Anakin never actually attained the rank of jedi master.

Tbf Ahsoka was anakins apprentice in the clone wars show, so Anakin was her master, even if he didn’t have the rank of Jedi master

Two different meanings of master, Jedi Knight's have Padawan's and thusly are their master, but not every Jedi Knight attains the rank of a Jedi Master, that is only reserved for those who sit on the Jedi Council. Which is why Anakin was so annoyed as he was allowed to sit on the Council but not given the rank of a Jedi Master, even though at that time he wasn't even the master of a Padawan as Ahsoka didn't exist (when the film was made) and had left left the order at that point in the timeline.

There was so much blank staring for so long in this episode. I was getting genuinely confused. Then the CGI was awful all the time. And Sabine's makeup is so clown world it's distracting.

Isn't it against a droid's programming to lie? I remember that in KOTOR 2 there was a mission where the Ithorians removed a droid's ability to lie and there was concern about releasing it when it has that ability. And I can't recall C-3PO lying in any media. I know that in the Thrawn trilogy he was modified to speak with Leia's voice to make people think she was on the Millennium Falcon and he was very unhappy about it.

Leia is lying; 3PO is just doing what she told him. Leia wouldn't have had any reason to tell him it's a lie, and his earlier reactions are good reasons not to.

So Sabine is roaming around with Ezra and the slug people, believing Ahsoka is dead and with any perspective on how to go back to her own galaxy (unless she manages to take down the Thrawn and the Witches), seemingly not worried about all that at all, since she met him, and we are supposed to believe that she sacrificed billions of lives (if these events lead to the sequels, Sabine's action as matter of fact, caused that lost) just to be besides someone that is "just like a brother" to her? Is not like she shares knowledge with the writers of what happened (Ahsoka is fine), but also of what will happen (they will be able to come back).
