AGV K3 SV Helmet
www.cyclegear.com/gear/agv-k-...
The AGV K3 SV Helmet is the successor to the well-renowned K3 and brings a whole new set of features for life on two wheels. The K3 SV has the versatility of an integrated drop-down Sun Visor which is scratch resistant and can easily be replaced. Much like AGV’s race helmets, the K3 SV helmet also features a “Hawksbill” curve at the base of the shell to reduce the risk of collarbone injuries. AGV is one of the most iconic helmet brands in the motorcycle industry and with technology trickling down from their race-bred helmets, the AGV K3 SV Helmet packs a serious punch.

    waiting for mine to arrive it fit so good in store, got the Winter Test 2016 with snowflakes. Yes that was the deciding factor besides the graphic on it, it fit so good though wow like a glove all around. Currently got a Bell Arrow and its super loose, 16,000 miles later Im deciding to jump on a good fitting helmet.

    Hey Tomy! There are quite a few options available out there that shed some weight. If I can ask you a few questions, I would be happy to get you pointed in the right direction. 1. Is an internal sun visor a "must have" for you? 2. Do you have a price-point you are looking to stay within? 3. What type of riding do you plan on doing most with this helmet purchase? There are thousands of helmets on the market so getting some additional insight will allow me to make a better recommendation for you. Hope to hear from you soon! -Brandon

    Awesome! I would take a look at the HJC FG-17 (3.5lbs). It is lighter and more economically priced than the AGV K3 SV but it does not have an internal sun visor. - www.cyclegear.com/gear/hjc-fg-17-helmet-solid - It is a bit challenging to find something that is lighter than 3.6lbs at the $200 price-point. The Bell Qualifier DLX Helmet could be a great option for you (3.2lbs) and it comes with a Transitions Adaptive Shield. - www.cyclegear.com/gear/bell-qualifier-dlx-helmet - If you wanted to push your budget a bit further, I am a really big fan of the HJC RPHA 11 Pro - www.cyclegear.com/gear/hjc-rpha-11-helmet -. It's one of my favorites and I think it is comparable to something like the Shoei RF-1200. The RPHA 11 Pro is really lightweight, has a low-profile shell, pin-lock ready shield (with pin-lock insert included), and it is SNELL certified. Definitely a great helmet around the $350 price range. Hope this helps get you pointed in the right direction, cheers! -Brandon

  • @cyclegeartv

    @cyclegeartv

    If you prefer having an internal sun visor, the K3 SV may be a better option. If you don't think you would utilize an internal sun visor, the K1 would be a great alternative. Both helmets offer different benefits but I don't think you can say one is simply better than the other - really depends on the riders needs. Safe riding! -Brandon

    Yep, I have one, and find the same. Super comfortable, this is my second year with it. I like the features aside from the chin vent (toggle is in an awkward place). Otherwise, no complaints. A bit bulbous, yes...but, it's not completely about looks. It's about comfort and ergonomics as well as safety, of course. Appearances would be the lowest priority. Get a smoked visor...you wont' regret it. The internal visor with a clear visor isn't quite enough on a really bright day, or if you're riding into a sunrise or into a sunset. I've heard it won't accommodate a 3rd party intercom, but I was able to fit my Lexin BF4FM in without much fuss.
