Ryuichi Sakamoto, the old gentleman shown at the end of the video was a Japanese composer. His most successful work as a film composer was The Last Emperor (1987), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Original Score, making him the first Japanese composer to win an Academy Award. Suga was moved to tears when he met him (as seen on the documentary you mentioned) Suga even played the piano in front of this legendary composer. In my opinion (based on Suga's words in multiple interviews and on his Suchwita show) he's talking to all the artists struggling to make it. He's given them advice, advice that he wished he had when he was struggling on the beginning of his career. He understands because he's been through it.

When Yoongi was 12 he went to the cinema to watch "The Last Emperor" with his parents and he was starstruck. He said that Sakamoto was his muse inspiring him to compose music. That's why when he met Sakamoto (who wrote and played the theme for Snooze) he was in awe, it was a dream coming true.

The Last is such a f'ing statement. I can only imagine how he felt recording it. Imagine, he choose this song to end his concert every night. Ending on SHIT!, lights come up and without another word he just walks off "stage" - there really wasn't a stage anymore bc of the set-up of his concert. Intense doesn't even cover it. Which is so funny bc under all of that intensity is really the softest, most caring and emotionally intelligent man you can find. Yooooonnnnnggggiiiiii!!!!!

SNOOZE and THE LAST are ones of Suga's masterpieces. His SNOOZE is mostly dedicated to young and aspiring artists but it can be also to anyone. Here, Suga is not only encouraging and comforting them in words but he is actually doing in deeds too. Suga a man with a few words but more in action is such a phenomenal artist and beautiful human being thats why he is my ultimate bias. Suga's SUCHWITA show final episode 27 where El Capxtan his guest is a living example of one of Suga's good deeds , that his SNOOZE is not just only words but it is real and he actually mean what he said in action. THE LAST is one of my most favorite emotional and one Suga's most raw songs. It is raw, so true and honest unmasking Suga liberating himself to the world without fear that it might jeopardise his career but inspiring people who also dealt with the challenges he had but also inspired people no matter what or where you at in life, you'll overcome it and just dont give it up!! Suga's THE LAST is a very intensed and very powerful song, you can hear and feel Suga's voice tge intensity and all tge strong emotion heart and soul he poured it into that song. I love him before and I love him more and I am very proud of what and how he became. Watching Suga's evolution ( and all tge member of BTS) videos from their teenager years to what he is now and all his accomplishments after all the struggles, I am very very proud of him!! I love all of them but Suga and his backstory and what everything he do in music and to other silent good deeds he do, i have a lot of respect to him. To me , he is unique and incomparable. I miss him so much that even that video of the car he is in but you cant just see but just his car entering to military camp for his training , it already made happy. Please be healthy all my boys and come back safety, we are waiting all the 7 esp my boy!! 2025 is not that really far, abd i can already see the bloodbath on getting a tickets online on their comeback concert! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 God, I love them so much and forever be an Army!!!

BTS write songs about what they know, experience. I doubt Suga decided "I'll write a mental health song" he was probably thinking he wished there had been someone to guide and advise him when he was struggling in the early days. Snooze is just Suga rapping and the vocalist from a group called The Rose.

On his episode of IU's Palette Yoongi shared that Snooze was written as a message he wants to share with younger artists kzread.info/dash/bejne/gYRtq5SwZ7izdMY.htmlsi=eraZsVSRM1i9x6vb. I know it's been commented on before, but BTS has never had it easy and their path has had more than their share of thorns. For cultural context who you belong to or who you are connected to are way more important than who you are as an individual or what you are capable of (think British aristocracy vs meritocracy). For example, as a former nurse, when I was English tutoring, I heard from many nurses who would say that how they were treated at work almost exclusively depended on what university they went to. If you didn't graduate from one of the sky (Seoul) universities you would be looked down on, given the worst tasks and just treated poorly in general. With this in mind, this is exactly what happened to BTS since they came from a really small, not financially stable management company outside of the "Big 3". This in itself was enough for many people (kpop fans/other artists/broadcasting companies, etc,) to write them off and treat them poorly (og Army even share how fans themselves where harassed and even given death threats, etc online). Adding insult to injury was that BTS were exceptional right out of the gate (they were called Monster Rookies) which really really challenged this mindset for many, sort of like 'who are these upstarts who think they can challenge the best from ____ company' so it really triggered people's mindsets and values, at least in Korea (they actually had more fans internationally then domestically right from the beginning bc of their use of social media and sincere lyrics/message). With their way of promoting themselves which was outside of the establish media/industry apparatus they were also proving that you didn't need the backing of xyz company, or interviews/spots on xyz variety show to be successful which pissed the establishment off (this goes for both domestic and international/western music/media industries). There could also be a discussion of the competitive nature of South Korean society, and how that trickles down into Kpop fandoms, but I'll leave it at that. Also, bc RM and Suga were already underground rappers before becoming trainees, and RM himself had made a name for himself in the scene in Seoul, the whole underground hiphop scene was sort of up in arms, dismissing them, making fun of them and ready to find any fault since BangPD himself had never managed hiphop artists before so they were treated like sell-outs and were called out and even ambushed in really unfair ways. Every artist/band will receive hate in some ways...but the level and to the degree that BTS has/still does is really insane and intense.

Snooze is for young kpop idols to encourage them to pursue dreams. It is hard to work in kpop industry and some idols committed su!c!de because of stress and depression. I think it is also a song for himself and other people in the world too who are struggling every day. In the Haegeum, he smoked. It is very rare for idols to smoke in front of camera in Korea. Smoking scenes are even banned in kdrama (or the cigarette is blurred). And if idols are caught smoking by paparazzi, they are blamed harshly. So, Yoongi wants to break this taboo and paves the way for other idols.

I really enjoy your reactions and your comments! Thanks for reacting and appreciating his works. He is such a amazing artist and human being 'So far away' has two versions out there, one featuring Suran and the other with JK & Jin from BTS. Suga mentioned that he like both but the original version with Suran captures the vibe he was aiming for, so if you plan to listen to this song, l recommend checking out the original version first! (If you already reacted to it, you can just ignore my comment it's just an recommendaction!)

The Last is so raw. The part talking to the Dr beeped out it’s assumed he asked if he’d ever attempted to harm himself and he said he had. He mentions Show Me the Money a South Korean reality tv rapping competition he was mocked for never going on “I didn’t need to”. Yet the ending is triumphant power.

Will you react to First Love by Agust D? It would be lyrical video or live as there is no MV, although I think it would bomb. RM’s Wildflower is also deep, beautiful and heart breaking. 💜

For 'First Love' lyric video, l highly recommend the one from ashelygold 25 channel(A video with 11.04 million views) Actually, while he recorded this song, he cried a lot and struggled recording it. So, there's this little part at the end where you can hear him sobbing and then where it seems to abruptly cut off. It's the beautiful song that made me discover him.
