one of the reasons yoongi is my bias is probably his vulnerability. many idols attempt looking like they're perfect, and a very small part of them actually talks about their feelings and emotion, the difficulties they have in life and their darkest self. i first biased yoongi without even knowing this part of him, but i feel like this his best side, being vulnerable and human. it makes me love him even more. knowing there's someone who feels just as lost as i feel, that is as human as i am. it makes me feel loved, someway. and i swear i'd be able to do anything for him.

Yoongi is one of the most courageous people I know. Through his lyrics, he lets us further into his psyche, and talks about taboo topics like mental health. He isn't afraid to show us he is flawed and fearful, just like the rest of us.

@@claudia-wv9rv It's one of the things that drew me to him. He isn't afraid to be vulnerable, even though it isn't the norm in South Korea, or the K-pop industry. It takes more courage to admit your flaws, than to act like they don't exist. More power to him.

Yoongi's lyricism are very important for people that's inexperienced & on the verge of anxiety and fear for aspects of life whether it's about dreams or love, I feel like he "prepares" us about the necessaries of the complete experience. He doesn't sugar-coat thus he gives hope. To be completely clear, for the people like me who's inexperienced and living everyday preparing for the "jump". He's among the most important people I keep close to my heart for everything he says through his music and through his casual livestreams.

Me too. I am jobless and trying hard to get a job doing what I love. Everyone else is busy and living their lives to the full Im just existing achieving nothing and all my friends have drifted away because I suck at keeping relationships, Im very introverted and I just want to be alone, I also have social anxiety. This is a typical 'this song helped me so much' comment but Suga is such a beautiful songwriter and finds a way to express the depression he feels through his music and I'm so thankful for this song. It expresses in words what I've been thinking to myself for years, and the fact that he carried on and pushed through his depression is a great motivator for me to keep going.

Suran's voice is just chef's kiss. Jin and Jungkook's version is amazing but this one is just best. Those high notes are.... I have no words to describe. Everytime i’m having a hard time BTS is there for me. I feel so alone yet when i have BTS i know someone cares about me. Yoongi especially. He went through similar struggles. This song is so comforting. I have no passion to live. No goal or dream in life. But hearing yoongi encouraging me really gives me a will you live. i've been listening to this song since its release, and while i always respected yoongi's vulnerability and depth, this song always felt so distant from me, for i'd never had serious mental health struggles. this past year i have been struggling so much, it has been hard to find any hope for my life, i find myself spending all my nights crying and worrying, waking up struggling to get out of bed, feeling unmotivated and useless, feeling like i am failing everyone and losing sight of my own dreams. i never considered listening to this song to heal myself, but as i do right now, i am in tears, i've never been in tears before listening to this. i feel my sorrow and pain and loss reflected so strongly through this song, i feel so seen through yoongi's writing and the emotions he poured into his rap. this feeling of conflict between oneself that he discusses resonates with me so deeply, wanting to run away from everything for the pain is too much to bear, but fighting with oneself to keep going and pursue one's dream, even if at this point the meaning and purpose of that dream has become so unclear. his message of hope is really meaningful, especially knowing that it's probably something he himself had always wanted to hear, that reassurance that someone, somewhere, sees your worth and knows that you deserve to feel safe and loved. i am crying so much as i write this, i am so grateful to yoongi for putting his heart into this song, and sharing his pain to create this sense of solidarity. this song means so much to me, it is so important to me now, for it has given me this sense of acceptance, and even though i don't know him, i just feel so seen. i am still probably going to struggle a lot with my depression and anxiety, but having this song as a comfort will always help me to feel secure and find hope.

The thing with doing what you love is you will constantly focus on it, not easily get bored or run out of interest. Because no matter what, you will face hardship in the process and if you're focus on your purpose you won't back out. I wish you'll figure it out soon and wish the best luck for you.

I've never felt so understood and attached to a song like this. Yoongi really spoke my heart♥ It amazes me how can some be so vulnerable and strong, yoongi expresses hi emotions unfiltered through his songs yet people have the audacity to call him cold. He's relating to us in every possible way just to make us feel loved and cared for and that we are not the only one who has faced hardships in life but we can and will overcome every single of those battles. I think that I read somewhere that yoongi said that it's okay to not have a dream and to instead just be happy and enjoy doing things that you like and that make you feel better 💜.

everything in this song is about me. the lyrics "i want to disappear like a mirage, want it to disappear, I want my damn self to disappear, like this, the world throws me away in that moment I'm getting farther away from the sky, I'm falling" this lines really hits me, every time i feel pessimistic I think that i want to disappear. but why am i here? this is because of bts.

Its good BTS inspires you. But like Yoongi with his music try to find your passion to live for too. If it wasnt for my art I would feel I didnt have purpose. You dont need to be great at it and you can have more than one thing. Also its important to make sure you go and see someone to talk about your problems, if you dont already. ❤

This almost made me cry because my friend told me a story about how she was thinking about killing herself and she was listening to music because she was gonna hang herself later and then spring day came on and she cried, they literally saved her life.

BTS is the reflection of youth. I lost count on how many times I skipped them but in the end, they discovered me when I needed help the most. BTS will always hold a special place in my heart.

I relate to this. I always ask myself "What's your dream?" "What do you want to become in the future?" but I don't even know the answers to my own questions. I get that feeling. When my friends say they envy me because I'm already working and earning while they are still studying in med school, I felt really bad because I'm stuck with a job I've got no passion in. I still don't know what I want, what my goal is, nor see or visualize where would I be in the future. And this song make me cry even more, but strangely, it felt comforting.

@@ciel789 Many people don't have passion in their jobs but they find it in other things that having job allows them to have. Finding a passion can take a while. Be patient - Paying rent is a BIG accomplishment so don't feel bad it!

When I first heard this song, I was at a point in life where I had just graduated from college and didn’t know what to do next. I had no job, no direction to head to. When I first heard this song, it felt like somebody had described my life and made a song out of it. It hit home a little too much, so much so that I made a promise to myself not to listen to it again until I have achieved something in life. Today, 1.5 yrs later and on the last day of 2019, I cracked an important exam and now have a direction of where I want to go. So I’m here listening to this again after 1.5 yrs. Edit: Today is 11th September aka my birthday, I have an exam in 4 days. I’m not at all prepared for it but it’s a very important exam and I’m gonna give it my all. I will listen to this on the way to the exam centre.

omg we’re almost the same, but i was still in senior high back when i first listened to this and cried my eyes out because i didn’t know what direction to take and now i came back to this song because i’m still lost... i’ve always been afraid to listen to this song because it really hurt and hit home and it brings back all the doubts i have sksksksk i’m about to enter college now and i know how important it is to choose the right course so i can avoid wasting time and money (in case i suddenly wanted to change) but i’m still lost even after almost 2 years of trying to find out what i want and i’m scared,,, because i’m left out,,, all my siblings have already settled in pursuing their dreams and i’m here waiting for nothing and i’m already tired of working hard for something i don’t even know the destination is,,, but i guess it’s too late because i already applied for architecture which i don’t exactly hate/love i don’t feel anything towards it but because it was the best suited for my skills (arts and math) my parents suggested it... i accepted their suggestion because i don’t even know what to take myself skskssksk they’re very understanding and always checked on me if it was really what i want to pursue (and i always said yes because i didn’t wanna worry them) and told me i can pursue anything i want and shouldn’t be pressured by what they suggested but the problem is i don’t even know what i want... and i don’t want to show them how unsure i am in my life,,, im just tired of myself listening to this song made me want to rant again and again skskssksksks sorry for literally sharing my life story lol anyway im happy that you finally found yours!! hopefully when i find mine, it’s not too late sigh

The rawness in his songs are so amazing and I love it how he sings and raps about reality unlike other artists, his songs always hits hard deep down. And I'm listening to this masterpiece on our genius's birthday I really wish that he's able to find real happiness in his life cuz he very well deserves it

This man talks straight into my brain. I'v discovered this effect of his voice earlier when I was listening Fisrt Love. This supernatural unearthly effect makes me shiver. He is really the only one person on planet who has this effect on me. Like I get what he says on some physical, not even emotional, and abslolutely not on intellectual level. It's beyond anything intellectual. As if the sound of his voice would resonate with skin and bone of my skull. There's no words in this world which can say how I love this man and appreciate his extraordinary intelligence and talant.

I can relate to every single word of the lyrics. I feel like Yoongi perfectly understands me even though we've never met. I have social anxiety, and it's only getting worse every day, but my parents just tell me to pull myself together and that I can't run from these situations just because I find them a little uncomfortable... I don't have friends who could understand me and I feel incredibly lonely. I need help, but I can't ask for it. As Yoongi wrote in the lyrics, I just want to disappear. I don't want to die, I want to live. But right now I'm not living, I'm just existing, because I can't die. But this is not a life. I feel so hopeless and alone. But Yoongi's songs honestly help me so much, we're so similar in many ways. I can relate to every single one of his songs, it feels like he's personally talking to me. I really want to meet him once in real life and tell him how much he means to me. He amazes me, he's an incredibly strong person and he's so inspirational. He gives me a little hope that things can change. I couldn't wish for a better role model. I only found BTS three months ago, but they already helped me so much, their songs are so comforting. And it's nice to know that they care, even if we'll never meet. I always loved and appreciate Yoongi's lyricism, not only because he speaks truth, but because he's speaking for me. It's like he's the one speaking for me. All the pain and self struggle, many what ifs, and feeling how the world is cunning and you're already left behind...following the feeling of falling into nothingness. If you read the lyrics carefully, either a fan or non-fan can relate.

This is such a weird comment since Agust D already made 2 whole albums (Agust D and D-2) that have similar themes with So Far Away. Really, listen to The Last, People, 28, Honsool, Set Me Free, Burn It. Then as SUGA, all his solo songs have similar themes too.

My coaching teachers discriminated me from toppers, they used to say that " you cannot do it ... "..... day by day my academic performance became poorer ... I never failed in any exams but now I was struggling to pass... I lost myself. The conditions became so severe that I have to take counselling sessions.. This song made me realise what I can do .. and I would like to thank them for helping me to gain my confidence back.. A girl who was fearful is now feeling confident. Thank you BTS for helping me ... thank you and one more thing words have the power to change a person's life... if you are continuously discouraging someone they will loose a their confidence one day .... im in a love and hate relationship with this song, i hate it because of how accurate the lyrics are and how close they hit home, i love it because it weirdly comforts me knowning that there are other people going thru the same thing as me

Suga's rapping gets me every time. He raps from his heart and it shows. It sounds like he's suffocating

This song and Tomorrow are my fav songs Yoongi's ever written (maybe it's because I relate to them), either way, he's fucking amazing at what he does.

at 3:24 the original lyrics were "Don't fall away" instead of "Don't far away" but suga realized his mistake after the song was released
