As a Norwegian, I felt the same way about Martin Ødegaard when he made his breakthrough for my local club around the same age. Some players just have such an exceptional level of talent, that even if they play in a relatively poor league, you can tell that their ability would make them succeed at any level of the sport. Martin's issue, which persisted throughout his many loan spells for Real Madrid, seemed to be more related to timidness and an unwillingness to take risks, rather than a lack of ability. I think that issue still holds him back to a lesser extent at Arsenal. I've never had a tendency to hype up Norwegian players, I'm pretty sure I used to downplay their potential for most of my life because I had become so accustomed to seeing Norwegian players typically lacking in technical ability, but that seemed to change at some point over the past 10-15 years. Ironically, when Haaland scored 4 goals against the top league team which at the time had perhaps the most solid defense that the league has ever seen, I assumed that he was just a flash in the pan who lucked out in a single match. That opinion didn't change when he kept making news headlines and scored an absurd amount of goals at youth level for our national team, but after following him for 3 years now, I have absolutely no reason to doubt him anymore. If anything, he's incredibly unique in his skill set, and being utilized in a very restricted, poacher role at City seems to hold him back from putting the entirety of that set of skills on display with any regularity. I'm not familiar with how good KDB was prior to being bought by Chelsea, but there are few players I've witnessed in my lifetime who can do things that makes it look like they're playing FIFA in reality, and his passing ability is a great example of that. Sometimes it looks like his long-range passes are locked on to their target 😂If I have any complaints about him, it's that he's in his 30s now, which means that he'll most likely have retired by the time Alvaréz, Haaland, Foden and future prodigies at City will have reached their peak age.

You can just tell watching him play. You are seeing one of the true legends of the game playing in his prime. Interviews like this cement in the legend you get to see how he makes such brilliant decisions so quickly on the pitch. Every answer was immediate yet seemed thought out and no hesitation. No disrespect to haaland picking aguero history vs a couple months so far. Smart answer. Not a city fan but definitely a KDB fan.

For Kevin, I think in time, he will say Aguero and Haaland are interchangeable. If you get them the ball in the last minute, they will score. They both can physically keep defenders off the ball. One is just taller that the other. :)

Such a likeable character and fantastic player. I am not a City fan but I got to admire the selection of players they have and KDB is the best example of that. Seems like a nice guy to hang around with too.

Haaland is an absolute beast, and I'm sure he'll be one of -if not the- best strickers in city's history, but Aguero has given so much more. Haaland is just starting out, let's enjoy his evolution, but Aguero is still the best.

Hype? He is no hype. The only one who makes Haaland out to be a hype (exaggerating) is people like yourself. It was a question about the striker he plays with now and the best previous striker… 🙄 People need to stop acting like its Haalands fault he is talked about all the time. They do it because of what he do on the football field. Its the media who makes headlines, Haaland is just a guy who loves to play football and work hard to achieve his goals. Some people talk down on him because he is the most talked about, but its not his fault.

KDB seems like just a nice guy and really down to earth... Belgium could easily win the World Cup..

KDB loves City, but loves his roots more. It's also logical, the WC is damn near impossible to win. And the CL they get a chance every year and they came so, so close. It could happen this year or next year. For the WC, this is his last chance, but he knows Belgium have little to no chance.

@@yute-hube779 Are you Belgian by any chance? Zulu Cruz is right. After Kompany's retirement and Hazard being just a shadow of his former self; it's practically impossible for them to win. Their defense is old, and they don't have a world class striker. Only KDB and Courtois are world class, Trossard and Carrasco are also very good. But without a solid defense you aren't winning the World Cup.

His Mother lived internationally and spent years in England, he has been speaking English since his childhood.

I can see why he's so good at playmaking. He makes tricky decisions in microseconds.
