Very useful info. I think I am going to look for the windrow tester, I have not seen those at my local farm store but I'll have to search the net and find one!

The windrow tester is the one I use the most out of the two of them.

Nice video! You got a nice channel. My uncles barn burned down due to wet ish hay.

Thank you!! I try to make good videos. I am sorry to hear about your uncles barn. It is amazing how fast hay can heat up with just a little bit to much moisture in it.

I get readings of 00.0 occasionally, can’t find any answers for that reading.

If you are still wondering, a reading of 00.0 just means that the moisture is below 8%. The tester doesn't read below 8%.

is the windrow tester accurate in all types of hay? we do a lot of mixed hay and i was just curious. i have been doing a little research and i'm not sure how well the probe would work for us being that it was calibrated in pure alfalfa.

From what I have read, yes it would work in different types of grass hay. Thanks for watching!
