We visited around 35 years ago and recently went back for the day. It was still beautiful and bought back many memories. We are retired now!!! 😂

I have chosen Agia Galini as my destination this year for the following reason: I wanted a village which is a true community, because there are several other villages which are only populated during the tourist season. Agia Galini to the contrary has fishing besides tourism, so that there it still is a genuine community.

Griechisch GALINI= Lateinisch Serena . Beides bedeutet "Himmlische Ruhe" . Und so ist Agia Galini , ein Bilderbuchort Kretas . . Besucht mit meiner geliebten Christine, die heute in den himmlischen Gefildern Gottes verweilt. Was für angenehme Erinnerungen !

I visited Agia Galini during the lockdown for the second time since 1994. It horrified me how quiet it was. Such a lovely community completely fucked by a paranoid establishment, hell bent on giving the illusion that they know what they’re doing…

Koszonom a videot! A deli part sokkal jobb, sokkal emberibb, sokkal gorogosebb. Az északi part nagyon turisztikai. Nekünk is Agia Galini nagy kedvencünk. De azért azt meg kell mondani, hogy a szezon közepén nagyon sok az üres asztal. Szinte teljesen üresek az éttermek. Ez nem igy volt 20 evvel ezelőtt. Minden tele volt turistákkal. Az oroszokkal szembeni szankciók a turizmusra is nagy hatással vannak. Régebben minden tele volt velük. Anno, mindenhol ki volt írva minden oroszul es magyarul is. Most sehol sem. Például a Knosszoszi palotába a kis információs brossurak is voltak magyarul is. Most egyáltalán sehol semmi sincsen magyar nyelven. Pedig rengeteg magyar turista volt Kretan amikor volt Malév egyenes járat Budapest Heraklion között. Voltak szállodák, hogy szinte csak magyarok laktak benne.
