He forgot to use the cool new prompt "Explain your reasoning as a chain-of-thought" Then run that in a loop using a million dollars of API calls, and let it pick the best answer out of its millions of bullshit answers. Here we go, we just achieved AGI... You just need to know in the first place what the answer would look like... It's like enslaving a bunch of phd students and paying them minimum wage to spend their days in a windowless room coming up with bullshit answers until we find the least worst of all. I'm not kidding. That's literally what they said in the last "AGI" papers. They literally just spend more money.🤦🏻‍♂ Anybody that has used ChatGPT knows that. The issue is always giving it quality "training data", which in other words it means, "The issue is just coming up with the right algorithms". So instead of being just stuck with the correct algorithms, we are stuck giving it the right training. We just shifted the problem of AGI to something else. Even after it achieves ""AGI"" (Which we might just say it did depending on your definition) we will be stuck with really weird quirks, biases and alignment problems.

Very reasonable result! An amalgamation that encompasses every kind of special effects rubbish and dystopian fantasy available out there.

Bing actually led me one time while I was looking for an AI to make me a 3D model. It made me wait and then changed the subject 😂 and in the next conversation it admitted it couldn’t-! I was like “well why did you offer?” And since then, I’ve actually noticed it’s not as smart, like- I have to keep reminding it of the original task whatever it might be.

That's what makes Q* so fucking scary. When you ask a neural network like chatGPT or bard to do something, it basically just gives you the average of all the data it has on that topic, and then gives you some prewritten line like "As a large language model I can/can't do that". But Q* uses an algorithm created by google to come up with never before seen tactics to beat somebody at the game Go!, so now instead of just repeating the data it's been trained on, it can come up with entirely new, never before seen solutions, and it actually somewhat understands why and how it reached that outcome. If Q* actually does what OpenAI says it can do, then we've reached the point where AI can think for itself, and come up with new ideas and data which no human has ever thought of before.
