I have a fully painted 2k Bonereapers army.

The pigs went 12" in Herophase, I am pretty sure, they are allowed to travel their normal move distance of 9" with Mighty Destroyers

Pretty sure the eels on the right were doing D6 attacks each on their tails when you said D3. 22 attacks is not possible from 6 eels tails.

Welcome to the area! Plenty of places to game, you just have to be prepared to face the hordes of evil known as Houston Traffic.

So you guys forgot the -1 to hit on the first turn for the ironjawz, and I question his choice to charge the bacon into gotrek lol. I also run Idoneth with Gotrek and it’s super cool to give him the tides 🤙

I like to imagine the scene from The Two Towers where the Warg charges Gimli as he yells "Bring your face to my axe!", except there was no Elf nearby to steal his kill. We realized after that the -1 might've played a big factor, but I also realized that Gotrek can reroll his hits and wounds regardless of pass or fail, which is huge. I get lots of hate for running Gotrek, but I don't see him as being terrifying considering I love to play Horus Heresy and I'm very used to encountering nigh-unstoppable killing machines that have a 2+/3++ and usually heal for D3 as well.

Venomous War Gaming he’s a big points investment, especially in Idoneth when you don’t have that many guys anyway lol. Plus you can trap him easily inside the shackles or other endless spells.

I love how you set up Gotrek, at the very front, kinda like a challenge. "do it, kill me, kill me now!" or something like that. XD

Gortrek is not terrific, only has a 4'' move, cannot be teleported and it is perfectly feasible to use disposable units to make walls 3'' from him. In fact the real problem was Ironjawz's first round options (moves (ignoring the moves that the opponent would do next); charges (with brutes on 3 defensive eels instead of 6 offensive ones and 6 pigs on Gortrek); ...) Also, ID's are not ridiculous.

I hope you will film another BT vs Ironjaws (without Gotrek) just to see what the new book is capable of against a "normal" army.

Could Gotrek have piled in around the last pig that Ski removed combat phase 1 and attacked the mawcrusha?

Unlikely I would say, Gotrek's only got 1" range.

When playing Gotrek you can reroll ALL hits and wounds, not failed. You should always reroll all the non-6's to fish for 6's for way more damage output.

The first turn how does gotrek get the cover? He is an ally, does not benefit from allegiance abilities.

Ionrach Enclave grants Allies access to the Tides of Death. Turn 1 he had Cover.

Definitely not unplayable. He charged his Megaboss into a unit that had a 3+ save that ignored Rend, and his largest unit of bacon got trashed by a 520 death machine that you'll rarely encounter in the game. The issue against my Deepkin is that if you get too close and then I take my turn, I'll surround and Hammer & Anvil you. If you're too far, I can cluster up and form a defensive formation. Ski is a great player, but so am I. You can't help a few bad rolls followed by me making most of my saves on my Ishlaen Guard. Ironjawz are extremely good right now.

Forgetting the -1 to hit was pretty big, also IJ player should have attacked first with the mawcrusha and killed off the 3 eels then used smashing and bashing to get the brutes into combat next in order to do maximum damage before the ID got to attack back.

His plan was to kill enough of the Ishlaen Guard with his Brutes so that he could then pile in with his Maw Crusha and slam my Morsaar Guard. Then he could've Smashed and Bashed into my King. Activating his Maw Crusha first would've allowed me to have all 3 Ishlaen Guards save against him with a 3+ Unrendable and re-rolling 1's. Ski didn't want to waste his high quality attacks.

No turtle!? Blasphemy.

My heart always sinks when I see Ironjawz players needlessly throwing away their units in a turn one charge...you let him off lightly with gotrek not going after the mega boss.

Ironsuns are minus one to hit in first turn none of that was done
