    100% agree, flavour is theme. It makes you feel like a certain way, instead of just plastic figures with numbers and dice

    The new Kroxigor warscroll really gave me a lot of hope for the new addition. It actually looks nicer than 10th 40k if I’m being honest. One *flavour* point you missed on the kroxigor is how the wounds on the hammer went from 3+ to 2+. Sure they might not be the most accurate, but getting hit with a mace head the size of a person would probably hit extremely hard, and would a probably have a high chance of hurting something.

    the word you're looking for is "Verisimilitude", basically "the appearance of being true or real." - the game needs to feel real and impactful. Priests chanting for multiple turns to build up a powerful ritual? LOVE IT No shooting in melee? LOVE IT Attacks of Oppor- I mean Retreat? LOVE IT! I see a lot of cool examples taken from D&D 5E - Abilities and Reactions, and the Stack in MTG...

    great video, loved your takes on flavor and I totally agree. Though I do worry sometimes about flavor being over function... I'm a Sylvaneth player and I love that we have teleport abilities between trees- it's super flavorful! but it kinda led to the army relying on making 9'' charges for awhile, which led to lots of COS wizards being taken along for the charge bonus, which made the army less flavorful.

    I’m just happy they know all spells in their lore. Was really a sort of odd building point for Lumineth lists if you weren’t thinking of including Teclis.

    All the stats we’ve seen are for the “index” version of the units. The codex versions will invariably have more to them.

    I have never played tabletop Warhammer, only played PC games (Dawn of War, Total War, etc.), so it's more of an opinion from an outside eye; I mostly aggree with you, except for battleshock. I think having battleshock is more flavorful, as it would make sense in real life as well; if your friends would die left and right on the battlefield, you would get battleshock. They explained its removal as this is a life or death situation anyway so that's why they don't get battleshock, so they fight until the death, I can accept that, but I think overall having battleshock in the game would add flavor.

    Big fan of the changes. I didn't really play age of sigmar before but understood the rules due to similarity to 40k but i'm definitely getting into it in 4th edition the spellcasting feels good, the prayers look sick, I get what you mean with flavour, everything's looking really good. more excited for this than I was for 40k 10th edition tbh.

    I especially like the d3 mortal damage for retreating cause the amount of times ive cornered a high mobility ranged unit and my opponent just goes, i retreat and move 18 inches away makes me seethe

    I think it says per phase because you can use the command magical intervention in the enemies hero phase to use spells. Still insane on Nagash if he can cast 18 spells per turn.

    I'm a total noob/outsider, but: is there any Warhammer, 40K, Sigmar or whatever game that is centered around small armies? Like, max 10 models? I ask because I am really off-put with even the thought of buying and painting 20-100 models, taking care of them, transporting them... But something small like 5-10 would be cool. Like a fast-paced board game that you can play in multiple rounds/best of series.

    The biggest thing people claim as lost flavor in 40k is the loss of specific "chapter tactics". I actually love it and feel like it has taken the shackles off. My main army is Salamander space marines. Ive always wanted to do a tenth company army, but I actually used to lose out a lot if I didn't take the special characters and maximized flamer/melta. Now, I can take a traditional Salamander army, or take a totally different rule set. Salamanders have scouts, they have terminators, they have everything available to them that any codex chapter does. Now, instead of seeing every Salamander army be the same, you might see all scouts in green armor. More flavor.
