The soundtrack sounds very similar from the leaked gameplay that has made the rounds on the internet. Given that we haven’t been able to switch soundtracks for the definitive age games I am gonna assume we won’t be able to do it for AoM Retold

Just to share a bit, this game was not only my childhood but it really seeded my mind with the mythology of Atlantis that now, at 30 i have a Published book (fantasy/fiction) about Atlantis.

Finally, Pantheons' Powers are 'rechargeable', this was the only thing which annoyed me during my plays.

Ngl, I'm more hyped about the second expansion than the remaster itself, hoping they bring a Mesoamerican pantheon (Olmec, Mayan or Aztec)

Hoping for Sumerian pantheon.

I wonder if Hathor has been switched out for Sobek. I'd like that because it makes much more sense since the Petsuchos' correct name - as we can see in Retold - is Petsobek which means "descendant of Sobek". I also hope that Trolls, Promethians, Wadjets, Fenris Wolves and Manticores get buffed. They are very weak compared to other myth units in the same age.

Yes, I clearly remember them being most useless. Specially the winged snake. Trolls can pack some punch is you mass them, which was difficult to do in the OG where myth units cost a lot of pop and the game has a very low pop cap.

Don't know if Sobek was put instead of Hathor, but the name of the Petsuchos has changed, they did another video giving an insight about the game after Summer game fest (I think it's on the Xbox channel on KZread) and they show at some point some attacking units and when they select the Petsuchos it says Petsobek :) if I find the video and the timestamp I will share it here!

This is looking to be on one heck of a game. I grew up with this game. I can't wait to revisit it. My one grip is the Gaia redesign. Feeling like my Goddess Titan of the whole earth has been nerfed into a tree.

I am very happy with the redesign. It went from "guys we have to ship the game out but we don't have a design for Gaia - 'just make it a big woman and ship it'" to actually looking like the personification of earth

ITS THE OTHER WAY ROUND SHE GOT ELEVATED! why should a higher anient beeing which represtens earth look like a lesser being like a human? also she looks still quite "femine" for a tree and brings her more in line with dryads!

The only game in the Age series I played as a kid was AoM! And I played it so much! I'm beyond excited for this remake thank you guys for making it!

I hope the Scenario Editor is just as good as the original if not better. And I hope that all the new functionality and triggers people have added since 2002 are still possible.

I think re usable godpowers is a great addition. Can't wait to zeus bolt a myth unit every time one comes over early. Curious to see how they balance that though. Also can't wait to see what new factions they add. Still would prefered a new aom but I'll settle for it being upgraded and some new content. Maybe if it does well we get an aom 2?

Can't wait! I'm very curious though about the "original concept" you mentioned at ~07:11 minutes. Does that mean, that we can expect even more gameplay changes than the renewable god powers? What does this mean for the campaign (it is altered to fit the new/changed gameplay)? What about the synchronisation of the game? Are there new voice lines and are they from a new cast entirely or can we look forward to the iconic original cast (in all languages) we are grew up to and only the new dialogue is done by a cast?

I cannot wait for playing this AOM with Set and Hades, I'm currently playing AOEIV on xbox and hoping to get AOEIII for console too please

Will their also be new campagins? I would love to see ones with the Villains and Folstags story as campagins

Try AOE4 on game pass to get used to similar controls. It's a lot better on console than you'd think.

Autoqueue is the normal. Having to think about refilling your villager production and having to do it manually should never have existed in ANY rts. It's basically as stupid as if workers didn't automatically return resources when they hit their carry capacity AND didn't go back to gather once they dropped it off

@@DarkMSG The "strats" you talk about would just evolve and be better if the player's attention wasn't sunk in a menial, repetitive, numb task. The strategies high-level players would be able to come up with and experiment would be more amazing if the game allowed them to by freeing their attention from microing the town center all the time. Mechanical "skill" should never be too important in strategy games or else the strategy aspect completely vanishes. Using your brain to outsmart the enemy should be what people call "skill" in this genre.

No new information. I would like to know if the net code has client side prediction and state reconciliation so that the most laggy players do not slow the game down for everyone. These features are nowhere to be seen in the AOE franchise and it makes no sense in 2024. We want a strongly performing MULTIPLAYER game without constant lag and desyncs

Honestly speaking, I think the Accent was not necessary because during that age English probably didn't exist anyway, they basically spoke GREEK, or whichever language, so accent wasn't really necessary man

​@@DarkMSG Sorry to say, but if auto queue is all it takes for it to be no skill gap between you and a new player - than that's your skill issue ^^ but don't worry, less than 5% of the playebase played more than a single online match in their lives so vast majority of people won't judge you for your lack of skill :)

Age Of Empires IV graphics are far better than Age Of Mythology: Retold, So I am not impressed but anyway, I am happy that there is a new Mythology game on its way.

I'm excited for AoMR and all, but I really want news for the new AoE3 DE expansion

My hope is that the game won't be as much min-max'd as AOE2 is. That ruined the fun for me a little bit. Very strict build orders, META's, and Very strong CIV's dictate how you HAVE to play

@@Indipender that’s awesome but my point was, I’ve played AOE2 a lot at a medium-high competitive level and for me it really starts to lose its soul and fun because you’re just repeating a super precise build without much room for your own input until the later stages of the game. It’s a personal preference thing but the super precise build orders kinda ruined it for me

@warbreakr if you truly played it, you wouldn't say such dumb things. Watch any pro aoe2 game. None is the same. If your claim were true, every match would end one way and with one unit combo. That is not the case. Ergo, what you say simply isn't true.

Game illustrations, god portraits (when u choose them during age up) in game looks incredibly cheap and tasteless, please make them better, you did an amazing job and those awful art doesn't fit the high quality of the game, they look like they are from cheap mobile game...
