@@HsenagNarawseramap as someone who was also underwhelmed by seeing the dispayed parts of the game, i can say the game itself is much better than what we see, the civs have quite a bit in common yet somehow they are so different and each civ could have so many potential play styles that kept surprising me everyday (especially a particular civ that im not gonna mention but u will see once the game comes out ;)), the gameplay was pretty smooth for a beta (especially when compared to AoE2 DE closed beta, which was a nightmare to run), the OSTs main problem was variety because it was actually pretty good and i wanted to hear more of it. It is harder to wall in ao4 than walling in aoe2 and aoe1 but it is very much worth it The game did have balance and optimization problems but those can be easily resolved with a patch so not worried about those too much. I still think 60$ is too much for the game, i highly recommend waiting for a sale but setting price aside it really impressed me

Cannot wait. There are around 40-50 people in my guild who are also avid RTS players and we are already setting up tournaments for this game. Been awhile since a RTS has come out.

I like how they put people on the war elephants I wish they showed the same love to seige weapons

I’ve only just found out that you can’t put troops on walls in AOE3 and I’ve been attempting to do that for ages lol. I’m so bad at this game, but I love it so much.

I hope they take into account all the feedback survey and make changes based on it. What i didn’t like about beta is how melee units such as cavalry have to torch siege units. I noticed their animation reset if you targeted a different siege unit without completing the torch animation

Im loving everything i see about this game :) i love how u can start from NOTHING and then at the end game u have basically Winchester and u didnt even have to worry about adding roads and stuff i like that. the art style makes alot of sense because u can visually see each individual upgrade applied to your units its just so good. Im excited to play this everything i see makes alot of sense

The graphics could have been better with more polished textures and animations on the units. Also, Holy Roman Empire has nothing to do with the Roman Empire as depicted in the picture used in this vid :P The gameplay on the other hand, with units mounting walls, fully distinct civs etc is going to produce some really enjoyable gameplay, I guess. Cool vid 👌

Well this is an rts game, not a city building management game. I think they make the right choice for readability.

@@haziqfahmi240 Now that you mention it, they could still support unit readability with better graphics and animations. I did not say the graphics are bad, I said they could be better, textures and animations in particular. Also, city-building games need to support unit readability as well as all strategy games. People are really confused about the 'Art style' and graphics quality. They are two different things. You can go ultra-realistic or you can go a bit cartoonish art style which I think is great for top viewed strategy games. But I guess some people never going to like it because look at 'Zelda breath of the wild' some people still don't like it regardless of how good the gameplay is, they'll point out the graphics. Not to mention Age of empire 3 failed because realistic graphics make it harder to play the game which is probably why Microsoft went with this type of art style.

totally wrong! I love AOE3 graphics, history is not cartoon! I'm a passionate AOE3 player and I think RTS should not look like a game for gameboy!

I totally agree with you. Despite me playing aoe2 for probably more than 5000 hours i still enjoy playing it and dont really enjoy the third one as much while maybe only having 50 to 80 hours on it. I dont really know exactly why but i suspect this is a reason to why.

Just played the stress test and I didn't feel the same feelings as I get from this trailer footage!

Great video! Just a quick observation though: The Holy Roman Empire has nothing to do with the classical Roman Empire (which is what we see in the picture you chose to use as a placeholder for the HRE) The name is mostly a reference to the "sanctity" of the former empire and its emperors which was used as a symbol by the dynasty of Charlemagne and the rise of the HRE for the next 800 years or so, but the HRE itself is more like a central european/germanic medieval kingdom and not the "classic romans" with legionaires, lorica segmentata armors and such. :) HRE will probably be similar to the English but with highly disciplined military, ahead-of-its-time science and culture and well armored knights and heavy cavalry. Their most famous motif was a black eagle against a mustard yellow background Just a little heads up for people expecting classic roman empire stuff :)

@@pjotrnygard1447 plays like 2 luckily for me but heat still looks a little “cartoony” not a huge fan but graphics overall are pretty good. As for turtle civs I can’t answer it’s not like a meta really developed in the 1 week closed beta

IMHO - this game is just a children's sandbox for preschool age. Nothing compare to AoE II DE!

Firstly relic has made this game, secondly this game looks cartoon and 2010 like. Thirdly this makes AOE3 look way better, it's gameplay looked unique. This game is a mix of age of empires online, aoe2 and aoe3. The Civilization also look overused from previous games and are highly generic

@@Albertredneck rolf, sc2 cartoon? SC2 is dark, look at protos and zerg tone... yes terran units move a little bit cartoony but that's all, everthing else is well made and dark, also I don't use terran for the same reason... sc never was cartoon, also sc2 has toons of blood and corpses...

Mates, If this game flops, say goodbye to Age of Mythology II. So pray and try to bring new players to AOE IV. And tell your AOE II lunatics buddies to stop boycotting AOE IV.

The Holy Roman Empire has almost nothing to do with the Roman Empire of antiquity. HRE was actually Germany.

Please make real time strategy great again!!! I really don't want just to criticize the game. First of all I find it great that some of the biggest graphic faux pas have apparently been eliminated e.g. the arrows. What I think is really great is that the units are visible on the walls and that all the nations have different looking units. It would have been really great if the units could also be seen on the building type castle… But unfortunately, in many scenes the graphics still look miserable. Nice that the arrows have been adapted but the proportions of the buildings to units but also to each other is simply not consistent. Example the ratio of the size of the city wall and the castle or castle to elephant is simply wrong and really ridiculous. Please make the building type castle bigger and more majestic!!! Like it really was. The Landsknechte are also a graphic disappointment for me. With this graphics is Age 4 a worthy successor? Hopefully the gameplay fits. However, the eye eats with ...
