3:13 Richter doesn't need wings to fly. Suck on that Alucard.

I've played Richter mode many times and it really is annoying how easily you can die by so many things, especially in the inverted castle, so this was interesting to watch.

I'm glad he reset some rooms, I would have missed out on the cool strats, really neat run! I have been playing sotn for a few days on pcsx and I am blown away by most of what he does in it

Richter is the most overpowered 2d character ever in this game. I love it.

They are all parts of Richter's designed moveset. Glitches are more often used in speedruns with Alucard. Richter is broken enough, though a lot of practice would be needed to play like this.

It's way harder than it looks. The air slash for example you need to push up, down, down forward, forward punch every time. Theres a reason he's using a glove on the finger thats on the stick.

Yeah in this game it's just up, down, forward and punch. though it is easier if you use the quarter circle motion.

The frames of invincibility during dashing are tricky. He collided with the zombie just as his dash was ending.

If you're coming to this video to watch a speedrun of SOTN, and you are new to speed running, here is a short explanation of the hobby you may have for those who are curious; - it's a speed run where you run through the game as fast as you can, either through manipulation of the games engine, or through actual means that allow faster movement in the game. - yes we get it, it's a different way of playing, we understand this is your first time looking up speedruns, look at other speed runs and don't cherry pick dumb reasons to not like a games speedrun, aka "why is he just gliding through the area that's not a fun way to play the game" - yes people do call it SOTN - a lot of speed runners don't talk much for concentration reasons, get used to it - the point isn't to get WR, the point is to get it done by a certain time for charity, if WR is achieved, most just accept it and move on do not expect anything grand most of the time - just because you think it's not fun or entertaining to you doesn't mean it's the same for others, not everyone likes sports, not everyone likes speed runs - there are multiple speed runs events all year round most are on twitch, find a couple runners who you like and stick to them, chances are they are your best go-to runners for game recs you may not have thought of Have fun and enjoy some speed runs

No, you don't have to beat every single boss to just get to the ending. However, I recommend exploring and doing optional fights too for the sake of more content and a better ending :)

Not sure if you ever played Portrait of Ruin. While the version of Richter in that game has no item crashes, the way they modernize his controls makes him a blast to play. They just had to revoke his rights to hydro storm :(

Zed C It's a cutscene boss, just like with Death and the Succubus. They don't exist for Richter.

@Fuck You I'm positive that it must be very hard to be charismatic and not monotone while constantly inputing the command for air slash and paying heavy attention so you don't fuck everything up and lose time, which is VERY easy to do. It's already nice that they both even explain what's going on and are willing to make a few jokes. There are plenty of speedrunners that don't even bother with talking, which is still understandable, They came there to speedrun after all.

People were doing this 20 years ago when we alk figured it out. This guy is acting like it's all some new secret. I was doing this when this guy was probably like 5 years old.

We get it, you are "good" at sotn. No one cares.

It seems, to me at least, that without cheats and buffers he can't actually play the game very well. The areas that he says are tough, tricky, or scary aren't that much of a bother to me when I play the vanilla, original game. His playing here is okay, I guess, but he just seems to rely really heavily on the buffers that come with playing as Richter.

The point isn't that the room is hard to get through, it's that it's hard to get through in the fastest manner possible, especially when you're skipping health-ups and save rooms to keep your time down and thus can't afford to take many hits. It's like telling someone that parkour isn't that hard because you walk around that part of town all the time.

SpeedRUNNING Speedruns mostly if not always consist of movement and repetition, it's about getting through a game as quick as possible. If you find that boring then you should probably look up a full playthrough.
