Hello, I am from Assam (in the Northeast of India) where the British first discovered tea! They also left the legacy of a colonial life which we are familiar with as my family was in tea. 20 years ago, I had the wonderful opportunity to spend a wonderful vacation traveling in England. It was a dream of mine, and loved every minute of it. The high teas, O the gardens, and wonderful morning walks. The rain smelled fabulous, thank you for all the details that help me relive a very special time.

I was in England for a conference back in July 2018, and loved every second of it. We rented a car and drove all over to squeeze in as much as we could. England stole my heart and the people are fabulous. I can't wait to go back...even it it requires a conference first. LOL

The best part of this video was seeing how "giddy" Kirsten was to seeing Highclere Castle! You are such a sweet couple! Thanks for taking us along!

I was there and it seems that this picturesque castle has that affect on people. LOL It's a magical place and can't wait to go back.

These beautiful estates bring out the best in us, I think. They represent so much beauty, tranquility, culture and history.

I have not seen Downtown Abbey, but now I might see if I can find it and watch it. The castle looked amazing as well the afternoon tea. But, I think the best thing for Joerg was seeing how happy it all made Kirsten so happy, he loves her so much.

My heart was pounding and my stomach was fluttering as you drove up to the front door of "Downton Abbey". Thank you for sharing this wonderful glimpse into the life of the infamous " Gratham" and "Crawley" families. Stay well and safe🇨🇦🏰

You brought back memories of my own visit to Highclere Castle. I heard the music playing as we pulled up the driveway and I could remember so many significant scenes in every room . We also had Tea which was lovely, really well done but I agree they could probably have a larger and perhaps prettier place in which to serve it. Very glad we took Tea though 😊

I found myself nodding and thinking, "Yes, the Earl of Carnarvon really should offer afternoon tea on the lawn, " as I put the laundry in the drier. Aww thank you so much! To be fair, you can book your afternoon tea as a picnic but since you have to book way in advance, it can be tricky regarding the weather and of course they need to plan.

I went in 2018! It was a fabulous experience. I ordered a picnic tea and sat under one of the big trees with a view of the castle. I think they do that seasonally. It came in a beautiful big box.

Yes, the still do that, only problem is you need to order well in advance and we actually had a bad weather forecast with lots of rain. Luckily we didn’t have any.

You two are so sweet and fun! I really enjoy watching your adventures.

Beautiful ! It would have been lovely to meet Lady Fiona Carnarvon ,who, to my knowledge , read German at Cambridge or Oxford . We really miss Downton Abbey, fiction or reality mixed ,it is a world our fathers and grandfathers were part of, it was based on moral values ,on things that built and not destroyed...Keep on doing what you have embarked upon !

It was all lovely but the flowers were just glorious and the meadow of Queen Anne's lace is a dream come true, my garden patch of it wants to take over the entire property, I may just let it now after seeing that meadow! TFS! 💐

Getting goosebumps watching you and Joerg walking up the drive to Downton Abbey and being able to experience such a magnificent place. Had to of course get my tea set out to watch this!

Kirsten, when you refer to spending some years in Egypt, it reminded me to ask if you and Joerg would consider making a video that tells us more about you and your families? What did your parents do that brought your family to Egypt? I would find that so interesting! Thank you for the fun and joyful video and the delicious tea cakes virtually!

This is such a lovely vlog. I absolutely love Downton. Everything about it is perfect and you both make it so special. Amazing how much gluten free items are offered at nearly all the tea places. The Secret Garden reminded me of another movie I love to watch. It is called „The Secret Garden“ after the novel of Frances Hodgson-Burnett. Also the book is nice to read. It plays in the Victorian era. You check both out. Makes me wonder, if parts were filmed there as it also needs a castle. But I would highly recommend the movie version of 1993 where Maggie Smith plays the house keeper.

So excited to see you at Highclere after all your disappointments last year. We watched the whole of Downton Abbey again during the lockdowns and it was lovely to see you there. I’ve loved your holiday!!

In 2017, in our trip to Uk we enjoyed traditional english tea in a farmhouse close to Lake district.. clotted cream first and then jam. Next time, will try the other way, which Joerg did.

How wonderful! I am definitely living vicariously through you two. I had told you earlier that years ago we were on the bus to Highclere and my hubby had to get off because he felt ill so we didn’t get to go. Proms would be amazing there! Have you taken a look at William Hanson's channel? It's all about 'taking tea' and the traditions and courtesies around it. He goes round the world teaching people good manners. If, for example, you were invited to tea by the Queen William is the person you would speak to to make sure you did it correctly. It just emphasizes how important it all is although it's silly to put so much importance on something that really quite trivial. PS: I'm not saying you need it - it's just for interest. :-D
