United States of Tara is one of my favourite shows of all time. It was the perfect mix of funny and serious. Toni's acting was incredible

It was a fascinating exploration of mental illness framed in a manner rarely undertaken by the entertainment media and a pity when it was mercilessly axed, mid story line, without resolution and leaving myself and many others, I am sure, feeling utterly exploited as audience members. As a performer, I can't begin to imagine how insulted Toni Collette must have felt when they did that to her and her fellow cast members. Clearly from her visceral response here, years after its abrupt termination, she still has strong feelings regarding the affront that it represented and that with good reason.
United States of Tara is one of the best shows everrrrrr

Showtime screwed the pooch when they cancelled "United States of Tara," because it had a lot of potential to have 2-3 more seasons.
Currently rewatching "Tara" on Hulu, and yes, it was cancelled way too soon. It's one of the most original and well-crafted series of its time, and arguably one of the most underrated shows ever made, period. I would love to see more, although sadly I doubt that would ever happen. It was a cult-show through and through, and the networks just don't seem that interested in reviving weirder or smaller properties. (Maybe Hulu though... Hmm...)
I love how Toni describes Muriel as a "beautiful girl"

The beauty of that movie is that PJ and Toni wrote and played Muriel with such dignity.

I was miffed when UST abruptly ended...that ending was too rushed.
Halle Berry, what a beauty! She still looks so great and hot! She seems ageless.
United States of Tara is one of the most underrated best shows ever made. All of the characters were played wonderfully. It’s one of the first shows I ever got into on premium tv.
I would love to see these two ladies do a movie together!

Its unfortunate that shows like United States of Tara don't get the attention they deserve. I'm not sure if why that happens but it must definitely isn't anything to do with this show. Showtime says it compared poorly to Nurse Jackie and Weeds but i don't see how. I heard about United States of Tara years later but it was 10× better than either of its competitors. Till this day its still one of the best shows I've ever seen in my life. Top 10 all time. The chemistry of the entire cast was great, but Toni Collette is on some next level acting skills.
Big fan of both ladies. Thank God for no cheesie Housewives tonite! (Except New York!)

It was cancelled? I thought the ending was perfect and that it was planned. All three of the main alters in the boat like that and looking recently dug up was perfect to me.

It was rushed within 2 weeks of finding out they got the sack. The ending is offensive to anyone who has or knows someone who actually has DID (mpd) in real life because there are no fucking happy endings adn going ot hospital doesn't solve shit! The way they just wrapped it all up so neatly and like everythings all better now was just disgustingly poor writing and like a slap in the face to how factually based the rest of the show was, and to the alters themselves.
