COD is turning into a skin shop, that's what they mainly focus on. The rest of the game is trash, but the store works flawlessly. When an issue is in the store they fix it instantly and when there are issues with multiplayer it takes forever for a fix

Before xDefiant officially released, I was trying so hard to enjoy mw3 and play it every day because I’ve always been a cod online gamer at heart. But since xDefiant came out and I’ve been playing it, I have absolutely no reason to ever look at call of duty again. It felt so good to delete that massive garbage pile of a game off of my ps5 and free up nearly 300GB of storage

I’ve had no desire to play mw3 after either. Mw19 forced me to become a full time s&d player. It’s the only game mode where me and at least 1 other person can sway games when I get vegetables on our team. I haven’t been able to enjoy respawn in 5 years.

What Activision does with Cod every year reminds me of a quote Jerry Reinsdorf, the owner of the Chicago Bulls and White Sox said a long time ago. It goes, “You know what, here's my best advice to you: finish in second place every single year because your fans will say 'Wow, we've got a shot, we're in it, ' but there's always the carrot left. There's always one more step to take." Cod will never make the best game they can just so they can leave hope that the next year will be better and you keep buying it.

⁠@@RadioactivesubOAs bad as a lot of companies are or just plain greedy, I would say FromSoft is the best true example of never making a game worse than they could just to hold out for a better one in the future. They have multiple GOTYs and Elden Ring is going to be incredibly difficult for them to improve on and I think even they know that.

I don't know if you thought about this, but I realized because of the spanish community. At first, in Warzone 1, when we were on Verdansk, they said they couldn't pass all the skins to Warzone 2.0 because it was a new game engine. Then they released Warzone 2.0, they fucked up the mobility, hacks were availaible since day 1 (it was the same exact engine) and a few weeks later (or months, I don't remember) they started reselling WZ1 skins. Then, they released MW3 along with WZ3 and they fixed the mobility they should have fixed in MW2, but they needed those sweet sweet 70€ from all of us (luckily not me), so they made the mobility patch into a new game, giving back what shouldn't have been taken for us so that we praise them. And now, for Black Ops 6, we'll be back on the same game, on Verdansk, Warzone 1, same weapons, same backpack system as WZ1 (they're bringing it back), and a lot of the same mechanics. To put it simple: We have completed a full circle, on which we have had 0 advancements, we are back on the same exact spot, just that Activision has stolen every person's wallet and we don't have the skins we had in WZ1. Mad crazy. What a play.

@kanmeii also I wanted to say technically Activision didn’t say they couldn’t transfer over stuff. They said they’re not going to because it would be too much because every bundle every skin everything you bought not just they had to transfer over they would also had to add it to a new server I’m not saying this is a new server, but this is like a different launcher than Call of Duty. If that makes any sense. This is not the same thing that’s this is the Call of Duty hub. This was way a idea they were trying to make back in the Xbox 360 in modern warfare three the original they finally made this idea a reality. If you didn’t know all the stuff that you were buying was getting transferred over to modern warfare 2019 it wasn’t getting transferred over to like any other like Cold War and all that no the reason why it is because it was easier to transfer over something to an older game then to transfer over like a bunch of stuff from an old game to a new game now this hub cause it’s the same code and all that technical stuffit’s easier I’m not trying to justify them. I think it’s a little scummy, but I don’t care money is money why does it matter to me? I play the game for fun and that’s what I do.

The problem is that XDefiant is a new ip and suffers from a lot of technical problems. The game is literally unplayable on my 4080 Super. I found a fix for it though. Underclocking the card results in the game running extremely well. However, keeping my gpu on default settings results in a game crash after each match.

The problem is solved by not buying their games. No one of good conscience and sound mind should play into Activision's immoral and anti-consumer crap.

Cod is like the Marvel cinematic universe. I started with the first Iron Man movie, and it was pretty dope. 20 movies of varying quality later, and I'm like, Oh thor got fat. It's always sunny in Philadelphia did that joke with Mac way better. I'm not enjoying this anymore. Why even bother? The cinematography is worse, the special effects make my eyes bleed, and this formerly cool thing is just a cheap product now.

We can start communities that won’t buy the games. In the 2010’s it was not possible. Now with all the indie games and actually decent triple A titles we can make these companies actually do what they were supposed to do. That knock off of COD Zombies is incredible Sker Ritual . Xdefiant is probably the best cod clone rn IMO. I think it is very possible to hurt these companies if the community works together and boycotts the games.

There was a cheater on XDefiant that I faced on team deathmatch. They were invisible but they were using the phantoms. While they deployed a shield down there was no one there to place it and I did see the projectile in front of me but no one was there. They killed me with a shotgun and the death cam showed nothing. I reported them for exploiting and cheating and they got permanently banned never saw them again.

I watched the preview before clicking and you had me at “what fucking news is there”

I pre-ordered and then play a few matches of mw3 and cacelled. I remembered all the hype around zombies last year and the absolute dud it is. Only reason I bought mw3 was for DMZ version of zombies, but let's be real DMZ was the best mode they ever put out/ it was free/ and it dumped on zombies with tons of new maps and things to do. MW3 zombies is a joke and we were sold a bunch of lies about it being like DMZ only it turned out to be bare bones season 1 dmz style.

I use to be so pissed when I came from BO4 to playing MW19 and feeling the game actively stop me from getting kills and everyone kept saying "skill issue" and "get gud". Stuck at 1kd for 3yrs and absolutely NO improvement. Playing Xdefiant for 3 weeks and I'm a 1.1! Put Cod on a bun with some tarter sauce...it's cooked.

As long as skill-based matchmaking is in the new Call of Duty's games, Franchise with be forever dead to me. Until they make real changes, I'm not going back

The enemy will spawn, camp, and kill you, not let you even walk out of the spawn. I stopped playin COD after morons started laggin my Wi-Fi.

Okay let's get the bar set here shall we, let's put this in to proportions. From everything I've seen Xdefiant had what, four? Five years to be developed? Meanwhile MW3 had only 16 month's to put out another game, see the MAJOR difference, one had more time to get everything worked out and smooth as butter, and the other had to slap shit together to get it out to make people happy, and guess what everyone still complains, but for 16 months, which is half the allotted time to make a Call Of Duty game. The only reason it was so rushed was because and i quote "it was meant to replace another CoD game that was originally planned for this year. Modern Warfare III was originally meant to be DLC, but as development for it continued, it eventually turned into a full-blown game.". Now don't get me wrong MW3 has it's fair share in glitches and problems, like packet burst, shader error's. but what game isn't gonna have those. And the reason they are holding the omni-movement till BO-6 comes out is because like everything else there's a model, let's put into example a car, let's say you get a Toyota 2024, and then the Toyota 2025 comes out with something completely new specifically for that car, are retailers going to call you up and be like "Hey, we had been working on this for a while to fix kinks and issues and now that your cars out dated we'd like to put something completely different into a vehicle that wasn't made for this model!" the reason they hold things back is because believe it or not. BO6 WAS IN DEVELOPMENT BEFORE MW3 WAS THOUGHT OF. BO6 had been in development for two. two years. If they were to come out tomorrow and say "Well we are completely trashing Omni-movement for this brand new realistic movement which allows you to be like an action star!" that would completely ruin the reveal for it, like if you were having a birthday and your mother said "I got you that ps5 you wanted darling!" yeah you'll be excited but you wouldn't be as excited as you would be finding that out on your own.

I bought the last CoD on offer for 30 and had fun with the campaign as well as about 15 hours of fun in multiplayer. But what I've realized over the last few days is that it no longer makes sense to buy full-price titles these days. I started playing zenless zone zero a few days ago and have spent about €5 in my 20 hours of playtime. I absolutely don't see the point in buying a game for 80 and then being confronted with a shop where a skin costs 20. You also notice that the content of the game is designed in such a way that you get the boring stuff for free, and have to buy the cool stuff separately. Then I prefer to play a free-to-play game and if I like it, I'll spend money on it. (In my opinion, CoD currently feels like a free-to-play title.)

It wouldn't suck being able to buy zombies separately and not have to be a statistic that pays for the whole game. Hard not to feel like a total tooler

To get input match making in COD cross play must be turned off and it still has EOMM 😂

I have different experience about the Xdef hitreg issue. I have wired optical internet connection too, and I play CoD and Quake champions without issues. In Xdef I have hitreg issue from the begining in almost every matches. It is not related to the connection type.

Xdefiant's recent update has me losing bullets to the void, dying seconds after I leave engagements, bricking abilities so I can't use them, and occasionally being locked in place while the entire map flashes in an attempt to cause a seizure. I'm still having more fun than I do in MW3 solo queue Just fix your basics and keep giving me things to do (just keep giving us shiny mastery camos faster than I can unlock them or prestiges) and I'll happily sit COD out for the first time in over a decade. The only joy I got out of MW3 was zombies with friends, I practically ignored MP after the first 10-20 hours with it.

Netcode in xdefiant 8/10? Bruh...

My biggest issue with Xdefiant is that the US Central server is located in Iowa and I'm in Missouri hundreds of miles away. I never have a sub 60 ping and it's frequently over 70. It's like the old 3 bar experience in old Call of Duty when everyone else has a 4 bar. So many of my deaths come around corners or where seemingly half my shots only register on my screen but not on the server because I was already dead. I have a gigabit cable connection which is good but my issue is the distance to the server. There is some skill issue for sure in some of these but I can't count the number of times my dead body is around a corner and I can't even see the guy who killed me. Or where I shoot a guy with something like the DMR, get two hitmarkers but then I die and the guy that killed me has 50 HP left. They need more servers but as far as I understand it they're using Microsoft Azure servers or something and the locations of the servers tie exactly to the locations of those servers. I like the game but it's a frustrating experience and it's hard to tell when I'm getting outskilled in a gunfight or it's just the high ping letting me down. I wish I had a closer server to play on so I could see what it's like when I'm getting the connection you get in your games BT. That way I can actually see how often I'm getting beaten and how many times I'm dying or at best kill trading due to ping.

I literally only play zombies because i'm ass at the actual game (campaign/multiplayer), but sometimes the lag is horrendous

I stopped playing Xdefiant same way I stopped playing COD. When they fix Xdefiants bunny hopping and hit registration maybe.

I am in the same boat. XD is following CoD in many ways. XD now has rage hackers becoming more and more frequent. I had them in 3 straight matches today, and the last pair made me ragequit. There was literally nothing I could do about the aimbotters headshotting me with every bullet.

Season 1 has really killed my enthusiasm for xdefiant. We got 1 map and that’s ok to me….BUT…to play the new faction you first need to complete a challenge that requires you earn 700000 xp!!!!!! That is roughly 20 hours of playing the same shit (except 1 new map randomly) as we already played up until now. And that challenge isn't even activated from start. OR you just pay them 1000 credits to unlock the faction directly without knowing if you actually like it. Now Ubisoft shows its real ugly face. If this was in cod you would've just lost your god damn mind bro🤷‍♂️

2 new maps i played rockafeller and the r6 map you also get 4k xp just for completing a match so if you average 6k plus that bonus 4k thats 10k at 70 games if every game lasts roughly 10min thats aprox an hour? Ive only played for 1hr since season 1 launch and im at 280k (less than i said up there but ctf tends to go by faster and less xp overall for me) but still at this rate 3hrs and i will have the new faction even tho i wont use them

1 new map. Rockafeller isn’t officially out yet according to Ubisoft! And i played a bunch of games already and I‘m sitting at around 50.000 xp. Aaaand you are missing the whole point of my post. They are starting to try to manipulate us to spend money for playable in game content (not just cosmetics(that’s absolutely ok!!!))

I’m having a problem with the way they implemented the new game relevant content (new faction). You can’t even try it before buying/grinding for it. I couldn’t wait to try out the new faction and waited for season 1 only to find out that I can’t even play it directly without grinding/paying for it. And the problem is also that the grind consists of playing the same same we played all the time until now except the 1 new map. Of course you will get it anyway if you play regularly but I think it’s a shady tactic.

I quit cod about 5 years ago for overwatch. I only recently bought all (virtually all) the cods in November using steams' black friday sale and started grinding the campaigns in order. It's been such a fun experience, and I'm even willing to come back and try cod black ops 6 bc the movement looks genuinely innovative and exciting, and BO2 was my favourite cod of all time so it'll bring some good nostalgia.

I quit playing cod for good after season 1 of MW2 because i got tired of being lied too. We were being told EVERY YEAR "best cod yet" and every year it just felt worse. Warzone 2 was dog water and as a player who tries to complete all the challenges and get all the camos. i got tired of the camos getting worse and the ultimate end reward being charms and lame shit. 😴

Prestige hunting on launch was a huge thing for me back in the day. Now there’s waaayyy less incentive because season cap and then I give up. All the bundles have better camo than mastery anyways so there’s no reason other than to sweat and get punished and get annoying casino lobby

i think we can all agree that COD is both the most loved and hated game of this generation for various reasons. However Activision no longer deserves the title of "Triple A Gaming Company". They are more notably a business focused on providing and interesting product/service with the primary goal of maximizing profits. And i believe this is there main problem. They are so greedy, that instead of providing the gaming experience that we've been begging for (since the good'ol days of BO3 and the original MW3) they want to shove a bunch of fancy content and new games with the literal same content down our throats hoping we digest it all. In this regard, i think its time to protest.

don't get me wrong, xDefiant is fun, but the gunplay and movement in MWIII rn just feels better as a movement-shooter main, and the gunplay feels a lot smoother. I would LOVE to main xDefiant but I'd love for them to iron-out some of the jank first.

On the netcode as well, I hate that in SO many of my gunfights in xDefiant end with me dying while I've already gotten into cover since their bullet "hit me before I was around the corner on their screen". Another thing that has never happened to me in COD except for back in literally 2009 MW2 server issues.. I don't want to sound like I'm sucking COD off or anything, I've been alive 27 years and played COD since the first one and I think I'm just seeing both games from a wider perspective instead of going into details that rarely affect me like EOMM. For ME PERSONALLY, in COD when I do bad a few games I get paired with some worse players, when I do good I also noticably play against better players. I get JUST as frustrated with both because I don't want games that are too easy and I don't want to get stomped. If I just play for fun, it tends to feel like I'm being placed in a good middle-ground where I might encounter 1 or 2 sweats but otherwise it's relatively chill. Tl;Dr - I like both games/franchises but there's still just a bit more "polish"? in COD when you compare side-by-side gunfights and movement. That's also a personal preference obviously and I know xDefiant isn't trying to copy the formula, I just wish some things felt a little more "tightened-up" I suppose, I guess we'll see with time which one sticks for myself.

They done it once with mw2019 , that’s why they had to remove loads to stop people playing it.

Bro the TTK (time to kill) is amazing too on XDEFIANT but on cod I’m always shooting people first and somehow they can turn around and kill me all while still getting shot on XDEFIANT the only reason why I spent money on BO6 is so I’m not stuck on the old title and also just for the woods operator

New idea. Instead of making multiple CoDs every year, they need to make one. One game but every year they add a new "episode" to the campaign. They can do it like Warzone does with its mix of guns. Choose a main style and stick with it. Every year the dev team changes and they have their turn to tell a story. That way they dont have to keep making completely new games, and the new content brings people back each time.

After the last time they made a direct sequel and carry over stuff, I can safely say that I'm glad they're not doing this again. Not sure if you noticed; but MW3 was just that, an extension on MW2. And it all felt very samey. I don't like this at all. I'm happy we suppose to get a new CoD every year. It keeps CoD fresh. Also, you don't lose your skins and unlocks at all. They are always available in the game that you bought or unlocked them in. If XDefiant is not going to refresh the game once in a while, it will feel the same old, quickly. After three years, no new player would start the game anymore either, since they're 3 years behind at that time. XDefiant needs clean slates to work from too. Or else I don't see this game become relevant at all.

my reasons to play modern cod: 1: I can use M&K in it (I hate playing controller in any shooter and cant run any of games on my pc unless its like 1 to maybe 4) 2: I have a last gen console to play it on so I can't play xdefiant (plus I don't like the game modes in xdefiant but I don't think it matters too much) 3: The people in vc (this one wont be obvious if you mute VC but when you kill someone or you die to someone when a teammate who already died is spectating you it's actually hilarious)
