What I never understood about the movie was why she was worried about him cheating when she’s literally cheating on HER actual boyfriend the entire time

@Arnold Schwarzenegger Noah came to the dorms and she wasnt there because she was with Hardin, then came back and then Hardin came out so Noah found out she was cheating on him, which made him get in the car and leave. I think that is a sign that they broke up. And he was obviously upset. Did you even watch the actual movie????

As hard as it might be to believe the books are worse than the movie. The book is about a “romanticized” toxic, unhealthy and serious disturbing relationship. Their relationship in book is even worse than the movie. He literally treats her like completely garbage and she treats the people in her life horribly because of him. He does these outrageously horrible things and has no redeeming qualities. The movie is just awkward, cringy and difficult to watch.

In that case he may just fell to her like a brother.

I can’t stand this movie. It’s honestly so creepy. What a way to introduce your lead boy by having him in a girl’s dorm while she is naked and in a towel, refusing to leave while she is obviously uncomfortable and flat out asks him to leave. It’s so gross and then the fact that she cheats on her boyfriend for that guy is just accepted?! I lost all sympathy for her when she said Hardin “meant so much more.” I hate cheating and then making it “ok” because “ohhhh I was actually in love with someone else” is messed up. The entire relationship was built on lies from beginning to end and it could’ve been so much better if she had moved on.

I love making lists. here’s a Teen Romance movie checklist: - Cheesy narration like “Because of him, my life has changed.” - Average quirky (often shy I’m not like other girls) but hot main character that is pretty boring - Exotic love interest, usually defined by a cute accent or being a bad/Rebellious boy - Mean girls usually in groups of three and at least one being ethnically diverse. Basically knock-off Regina George and the plastics. - High school party/prom being a major plot point - Love interest is actually pretty controlling and toxic but since they are attractive the main character is still dtf - Love triangle - Love interests in the movie have little to no chemistry - Dramatic raining scene - “Are you lost, baby girl?”

Things that immediately seem fucked to me: Hardin accepting that dare A guy trying to rape Tessa because of what Hardin did to his sister years ago Stefanie helping the guy try to rape Tessa The entire relationship with Zedd Hardin’s tendency to break shit when it all gets too much Trying to write off his abusive personality by explaining that he “has a troubled past.” These books should not have been made into movies. It's not just "wow, you're cute, let's date, it's "wow, you're so amazing, I will dump my long-term relationship just for a chance to be with you" And yes, it's all nonsense. Cheating is not cute. I agree with that but her mother also is wrong her mother decides who she’ll date what she’ll do what she’ll learn, yk? It hard to be perfect all the time. And in the book Hardin and Tessa stayed almost a year together in the first book, and Noah was her best friend since they were babies and her mom kind of forced Noah and Tessa to date and when Tessa finds her true love, her mum doesn’t like him! It doesn’t matter what Hardin looks like because in the book he has so much in common with Tessa and they fit perfectly for each other.
