After Effects Stop-Motion Tutorial 6 - Timewarp for Smooth Animation (Frame Interpolation)

2 years later... here's something I recently played with for an animation. In this video I talk about using After Effect's built-in timewarp feature to smooth out an animation. Basically, it just blends frames together to create new frames in between the pictures you take. It can be great for some shots, not-so-great for others..

I'll play around with this effect as I'm still relatively new to time remapping and am just trying to learn all that I can concerning it.

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. Timewarp is an effect applied to a composition or video, and I'm applying it to a composition that contains my pictures in sequence. If you watch my tutorial series from the first one it'll paint the complete picture!

What’s the difference between time warp and frame blending?

Good question. I don't think there's a difference functionally, Timewarp is just an effect you can apply in the effects panel, and has a bit more control. The difference comes down to if you'd rather use time-remapping or just the "speed" parameter of timewarp I think.
