This thing is very comfortable for a person 5’-8” and below. It’s super fun to go around the small corners. 15 mins oil change with no Oil filter to replace. 69 mpg n very reliable. Can do 55 mph without shaking. I use it for short commutes. I love it. Definitely a solo ride lol.

5'6 squad lol 2006 white rebel bought handle bars not sure what kind but they were black and literally made a difference in the handling of the bike. I know the longevity of the bike comes with a lot of maintenance, but it learns you a wrench..

Ive had a rebel 250 for about a year now.. my first "real" motorcycle but I've had scooters and mopeds for 16-17 years. It's a great, reliable bike to get around on. Highways are doable but I avoid taking them for more than a few miles. It's excellent for the city or anywhere that doesn't demand faster than 50 for long periods, although I've had it up to the low 80s.. I'm about 5’9 and 150 lbs and it fits me pretty well. I mostly bought it for it's simplicity and value retention.. paid 1400 for my 09 with 1500 miles and it's at about 6000 now.

Thanks for mentioning the height man, I'm 17 nearly 18 and I'm 5,7. I dont think I'm growing anymore so I definitely want to look into this bike. Thanks for the cool review

The rebel 250 is such a great bike to learn on but may I suggest looking into some 300 and 400 cc motorcycles perhaps? I only recommend because they are much newer technology and have things like ABS and are more comfortable and more reliable and more modern. I’ve been riding motorcycles for over 30 years and I generally don’t suggest larger motorcycles but really something like the ninja 400 or a Yamaha R3 are really excellent starter bikes that will last forever and are very forgiving to a newer rider!! That being said, the Honda rebel 250 is absolutely an excellent starter bike if you’re looking for something on the absolute cheap that you can just have fun and learn!!!

The yamaha sr400. Best starter bike. 60-80mpg. Faster than the 250. Looks classic. With clip on bars or clubman bars it has the old school cafe racer vibe. I get a lot of looks and compliments.

I got mine for a starter bike. I wanted to learn how to ride safely. MC training courses use this bike for their classes. I commute to work with it everyday. I get 80 mpg. It’s only a 250, so not much power, but great for commuting on surface roads. The engine will last forever. You can easily change the oil yourself and save yourself $100 at the shop.

Sr400. Its got really great looks. Not nearly as slow as the 250. Can cruise at 60mph all day and get up to 80 for short periods. And i get between 60-80 mpg its amy daily commuter this year. 7500 miles in under 7 months.

I'm over 70 and I've had my Rebel for 17 years. It has more than 40K on it and it is the ultimate grocery-getter, also good for quick trips on the Interstates. I added a Honda magnetic oil drain plug and offset mirror risers. I get 84 mpg and with the price of gas it is getting a real workout.

I was just given one of these. I will not say it was free because it needs some tlc, been sitting in the back of a garage since 2011. Just cleaned the carb, started immediately. I changed the spark plugs, new battery. Need to install tires, then a good scrubbing, polish everything. Will have to check the brake caliper and master cylinder for proper operation. So "free" is never really free.

There is simply no way you can go wrong buying a decent condition Honda Rebel 250 from 1996-2016. 1985-1987 models can be extremely difficult to get parts for, but from 1996 on they all use the same parts. I've owned 4 of them, and currently have a bought new 2016. I have made a couple of several thousand mile cross country trips on them, on the freeway. They will hold a GPS 80+ mph all day on a flat road at full throttle, and will go from 80,000-100,000+ miles at full throttle before they start showing signs of wear. The engine dates back to the '70s, when things were built right. They are simple and seriously overbuilt.

Got the 2015' Rebel with 485 miles for $2,995. it was owned by a older woman who just never rode it . It still has the factory paint codes. Rubidium Red with all the chrome, they don't make em ;like that anymore for that Price, they will be collectable one day as the 250cc model is no longer made.🤠

It's always something... People behind you impatient, you impatient behind someone because you can't pass them.. The motorcycle not powerful enough, (but it get great fuel mileage), or the roads are not smooth enough to ride and your shocks are not the best for the road you're on... It's always something... It's best to just not complain.. SUCK IT UP AND DRIVE ON..

I am 5 . 11 and fit on mine just fine . I am an older rider and have owned many bikes . This is my favourite . Very comfortable and stable . Not fast but here in the UK there are so many speed traps etc and low speed limits , a powerful bike is not much use . Does everything well and I love the looks . Mine is a 1999 model . I have had it 12 months . Only 2000 miles when I bought it . Been standing for 20 years so needed a tank and carb clean . Immaculate condition.

I just got mine. First bike. 1985. Run a bit rough but she runs and like a dam banshee. The portability of this thing is amazing. I love it!

Going to look at one in 2 days 2002, with 2,010 miles on it. Hope and pray that it’s a done deal!

Look at the yamaha sr400. All around cooler and better. With shorty bars it has a cafe vibe. I love mine.

put an engine guard and highway pegs to streach out.

I’m longing for one. I have a 1995 250 Nighthawk. At 6” and 160 pounds the style is perfect for me. Love to have a the Nighthawks sister as my second bike!

I love everything about these bikes except the look. I think a good business move would have been for Honda to offer another model with different styling. Nothing major. Just a different tank, seat, and front fork length/angle. If they made it look more like the old cb's, it would open the market up to more buyers.

I actually don’t mind the look. Personally I would buy a different 300 cc class motorcycle (Kawasaki, Yamaha) but I think the rebel looks pretty good for a 30 year old design

I got a recommendation for this motorcycle, plus I am 5"4' so I am a shorty. This bike is meant for me. Thanks for this video love me some Honda bikes.

Changing the sprockets to a 15t/30t really helps the bike better on the highway. 65mph at the top of 4th!

Sure that will give you more top end however, it’s going to take a long time to get there? But definitely not a bad suggestion. That’s the beauty of chain driven motorcycles, you can always change the gearing

@@postersm7141 Your completely right, with this bike though, it never had much get up and go in the first place. You dont get jerked around in 1st gear with the 15/30, its just more appropriate for the bike. I just got me a 28t rear for mine, going on soon!

I've been wanting a bike and I seen one of these online so I believe this is going to be a good beginner bike and also it's a clean bike

Don't worry about the height or the weight. I'm sure there's a short guy out there riding a KLR650😎

I like your video. Nice bike! Take it from somebody who’s been riding for quite a while, get some more protective gear so that when you do go down, you will hopefully get hurt less:) I personally owned at least 30 motorcycles over the years. My current motorcycle is a 2021 Kawasaki Z900 RS café. I never had a chance to own a rebel 250 but I would love to ride one. I have had several 400 CC class motorcycles back in the day such as Kawasaki 440 LTD and Honda CB 400 etc. I’m actually going to pick up a Yamaha R3 as a used secondary bike to teach my daughter how to ride and so I can teach myself some other skills. Just because I usually ride 1100 and 1200 cc big Japanese motorcycles doesn’t mean I can’t learn on a smaller bike. Smaller bikes are the best way to learn and practice good habits before you step up to a more powerful machine Stay safe and learn how to master that Honda rebel 250 before you step up to a more powerful machine. It will serve you well!

I agree, leather is your friend. Sliding or even just falling on bare skin can lead to a very bad day. People laugh at me (leathers on a scooter), but I have walked away from a few accidents. I crashed with an old girlfriend on my scooter once, she wouldn't wear any protection. I was riding in a month and she is scared for life, and two years of physio. Your choice

A 750 would be perfect. A 15-1800 is good for the mountains. You don’t have to change gears much with bigger engines. The 250 is like a scooter on power. I have one too.

For taller riders I would recommend a CBR 300 or Yamaha R3

@@dangerdylan5005 haha that *is* really tall but I thinking it is good as a beginner bike for taller riders. I have a ninja 400 but I believe it got lowered as a 5 foot rider it’s still a little tall just gotta work on balancing and getting used to the weight

I got a 1987 Honda rebel bobber 250cc cmx and guys and ladies, don’t ever knock theses bikes.. at all.. they are bulletproof as in liable and safety. I bobber it out and it doesn’t even feel like a 250cc great if you was a moped rider wanting more speed and more places to go
