I would recommend replacing those air lines with air compressor or air conditioner fin tube: these are the heavy pipes with a corrugated spiral radiator wrapped around them. These are designed to cool the air between stages and also keep the pipes cool. I would not recommend wet rags because you're getting water all over an electrical appliance and you're going to cause the same issue to happen again, but more importantly, you are also humidifying the air around the compressor or possibly even splashing directly into the intake, and it will get sucked into the system.. The water separator is just a cotton fibre filter and it's not going to remove all the water from the high pressure side...

Ah bummer, I saw one guy had a 5 gallon bucket of water and he'd put a block of ice he stored in the freezer, he'd put that ice in the bucket of water to keep his unit cool. Oh well, I learn a bit here and there from all you guy's and it really helps me out so thank you!

Ice is good but why go to all that trouble when a damp rag takes only a few seconds and I believe it will work better. Thanks for watching.

3 years on mine and still going strong, i actually bought a 2nd one and have used it for about 30 days to make sure it was going to work properly and now have it on reserve for when my 1st one goes down, great value in these pumps.

I know it is rated to 4,500 psi but to me that is pushing it. Keeping the old changed, keep the temperature down and not over taxing it will be around for years. Thanks for watching.

@@aaroncantrell8819 Yes I thought 4500 was extreme too but my 25 caliber Avenger has a fill pressure of 4500 so that's it. You can bet it's going to get a workout but so far it's been great. If it lasts at 4500 psi yours should last forever at 3000, time will tell, thanks for the video. Rick

Be confident. I have had my compressor almost 3 years and it is still going strong. I keep the oil changed, keep the temperature down by putting water soaked rags on the tubs and not filling the tank over 3,700 psi. Also I hear that Walmart is offering a 4 year warranty. So they must have confidence in its construction. Thanks and good luck.

Hey Aaron, I'm a big fan of yours. I've had my Yong Heng since June of 2017...still running well. My only issue was that the electric motor was overheating. So I slid the shroud back 1-1/2 inches for more airflow and refastened it. No problems since. When it does fail, I'll purchase another one in a heart beat.

I never fill my tanks over 3,700 psi because I found that the compressor really struggles with those last 800psi and tended to heat up. Thanks for watch and I am glad it worked out. Best wishes.

I think the Yong Heng is the best thing going for the money. I purchased my first one for around $200 three years ago. That's only $66 a year. If I had gone to the scuba store to get my tanks filled it would have cost tons more. Thanks for always being there. Best of luck buddy.

Have had a Yong Heng at the ready for almost 3 years until I got a Kral Puncher Breaker 7 weeks ago, been doing everything that you and others recommend to keeping the Yong Heng healthy, granted, I only use it up to 200 bar (got some used 200 bar bottles for 50 bucks) but I've gone through closer to 4 tins, that's a lot of 200 bar>120 bar, and charge it back up again, a lot, but it hasn't missed a beat!

I love my Yong Heng air compressor. I use it daily and never had a single problem. Also, I looked on the stamp card on the side of the machine and mine was made in 08/20, so it was new off the assembly line. I ordered it from a USA seller so I got it in 5 days instead of 3 months from China. Just change the oil a lot, use refrigerated, ice cold DISTILLED WATER ONLY because it has zero minerals, so no rust.

Thanks for all your efforts, mine came to the house this morning. Maybe I can get it to last awhile!

Hi Aaron !!! I love my Yong Heng. I routinely service it, more than necessary, but I'm ok with that. Like Cyclops Joe said, it's so cheap to maintain, just change the oil all the time. I change it every 10 fills, and I use refrigerated Distilled water ONLY. No tap water. Distilled water has zero minerals.

I got my compressor for $295 on Ebay with free shipping but I had to search hard to find it. Others was going for between $325 to $500 plus shipping. But there are cheap ones out there with free shipping. The Nomad 2 is a nice compressor but but rather costly at $750. Thanks for watching and for your comment. Good luck.

I watched your earlier videos, and as you said "getting old sucks, cause you can't remember anything" I feel you. So I thought I'd make you feel better about your purchase, because you originally paid $310, so this compressor was a deal for you as, unlike the guns that have apparently been going up in price, the compressor went down in price. Good on you for finding a deal and sharing it. I'm curious. Did you get the model with auto shut off or is it manual shut off?

I got the manual shut off because I like to monitor something that is 4,500 psi. Also I don't trust the auto. If it fails something is going to blow. My motto is "Keep It Safe". Thanks for watching.

After burning my arm countless times, I made aluminum heating that clips over the lines, no water needed and no more burnt arms. The new compressors like the GX are self cooled, and now only 290.00 free ship, and support 12/120v operating.

I have a small 5in mini fan mounted on top of the blue flat part of the case blowing cool air on the top of the head & stainless steel lines to keep them cooler when in use and I usually don’t run mine more than about 15 to 20 minutes at a time when filling my air tank and I only have to fill my SCBA 30min 4500psi carbon fiber tank about once every couple months since it holds so much pressure. I’m putting 4300psi in my air tank because my compressor burst disc pops at around 4400psi. I’m not sure exactly how much the fan I mounted helps but the cooler you can keep any compressor the longer it will last before having to replace parts. You can buy every part on these compressors to rebuild them and in 4yrs I haven’t had any problems with mine so far. There nice little compressors and well worth the money, especially compared to that darn hand pump.

You have a great system for keeping it cool and not pushing it to 4,500 is very wise.. I am going to follow your recommendation of not running it for more than 15 minutes because that it the time that it seems to get very hot. Thanks for the great information and best of luck.

within months of getting my yong heng the automatic cutoff stopped working. the seller sent me a replacement wire relay right away but I never bothered installing it. I have mine hooked up to a water chiller for extra cooling and I just have to manually turn it off, no big deal. still going strong.

Yes the yong heng is like a car. Keep it cool, dont run it too hard and change the oil and it will run for years. I did not get the auto cutoff because it just seemed that if it ever failed it could be dangerous. So I rather just monitor it to be safe. Best of luck.

With two compressors you could use a manifold with two check valves and run both compressors at the same time. I’ve seen this used and it fills almost twice as fast.

Aaron, I love your expertise and humility. The Yong Heng is similar to my first car. That was a used 1959 VW Beetle. Anyone familiar with those early Beetles know they had very simple air cooled 4 cylinder engines. You could take it apart and put it back together in an single afternoon. The Yong Heng is similarly designed, it's constructed with very simple parts; meaning anyone with a wrench (and average intelligence) can fix her. END NOTE: Maintain and run the Yong Heng thoughtfully---She'll do the job!

Make sure the compressor is on it own line. I have refrigerator and dehumidifier on the the same line and it either one of them kicks on the circuit will break. I think you have a similar problem or you may need a stronger amp breaker. Thanks and good luck

Hey man, do you ever change the high pressure piston rings? The small piston on top. If so, how often do you replace them? Does this compressor have 3 rings or 4? BTW, does your first compressor still work now that you've cleaned up the switch contacts? What grade of oil do you use? Thanks

I have never had to do any maintenance on my first compressor. I just changed the oil often. So I don't know anything about piston rings or anything else on the inside of the compressor. I did have to repair the on off switch because of water damage. But it work fine now. So I have never completed the setup of my second compressor. As for oil, I use the highest quality hydraulic oil I can find. Thanks for watching.

it takes about 30 seconds for the yong heng to fill my jts airacuda max from 1900 psi to 3000 my old dookie vevor compressor that broke took like 5 to 7 minutes

I don't know about the older model. When did they first hit the market. I have had my compressor for 3 years and i know someone who has had one for over 4 years. I have found that the best thing is to use water as the coolant and to wrap wed cloth around the two high pressure tubes. It really keeps the heat down when I fill my tank to 3,700psi. Thanks and best of luck.

Hey Aaron it's Mark I got a SS Texan 45 caliber and of course I blew the o-rings out of it and as I was feeling the gun so and now my compressor doesn't work so I don't know if it back pressure into the compressor and blew out something but it don't build up any air pressure can you help me

The only problem I have had is with the power switch. But I have seen videos where people have repaired them. Just do a search. And a bit of advice: never fill a tank over 3,700 psi and it will last for years like mine. Thanks and best of luck

Get the starter edition. It is just the compressor without the auto stop, which I don't trust as it has had problem. and the pressure set which you don't need because I suggest you monitor the fill every time to make sure nothing goes wrong. I once forgot to plug in the water pump. If I had left and came back later the compressor would have burned up. But because I stayed there I still have my compressor. Believe me those auto stops and pressure sets will make you inattentive. Be attentive when you are filling something upward of 4,000 psi. Also i suggest you never fill your tank over 4,000 psi. I only fill my tank to 3,700 psi at a time to insure that the compressor will last. Happy Holidays.

Sounds like your have an air leak. I had an air leak in the air cylinder of Wildcat MkI and had to send it to FX USA for repairs. However you can order all the o-rings from FX. Trying to fix the leak yourself could lead to other problems. Thanks for watching. Best of luck.

Quick question Aaron, I filled my tank to 4500psi and I mistakenly closed the valve on the tank before turning off the compressor or releasing the air from the drain screws and now my Yong Heng compressor blows air out of the black oil fill cap instead of the fill hose, do you have any idea of what the issue could be I would really appreciate it ,TIA

First of all I would never recommend filling a tank over 4,000 psi. I only fill my tank to about 3,700 psi. That is why it has lasted over 4years. Just because it says 4,500 psi does not mean it can do that over and over again without problems. first of all it is almost impossible to keep it from overheating. I know a guy who filled his tanks to 4,500 psi and I warned him but he said it a 4,500 compressor so it can take it. His compressor lasted about a year or so. As for your problem. You got some burst disk along with o-rings with the compressor. I think you need to replace the disk. Good luck.

Try this. Put the strongest fan you got on the top end and measure the temp after filling a tank to about 4,000 Psi. Then put wet rags on the top and the two high pressure tubes and I will bet you dollar that the fan will not even come close. Thanks for watching.

From what I have heard the Hill Compressor costs $1,000 and can only fill the gun directly. the youn heng cost under $300 and can fill a carbon fiber tank. At that price and performance water is not pain. Thanks for watching and for your suggestion.

@@aaroncantrell8819 The manual for the Hill directly states when filling "larger tanks the unit will shut off to cool when it reaches a set temperature and restart when cooling below that temperature. for filling large tanks it is normal for this to happen several times before the fill is completed." I have filled two impacts and two crowns from 150-250 bar back to back to back to back.. takes two min a gun....

My Yong Heng compressor blew apart the crank case failed and totally destroyed. The complete cylinder blew off the piston went flying across the shop. The unit was full of oil as required. The crank case cracked around where the cylinders attached. Thank god I was setting in the right are to keep from getting hurt. Please check for your for cracks in the crank case.

I am sorry to hear you had a problem. Glad you were not hurt. I have been running my yong heng for almost three years with not problem. I have head of them failing if you continuous push them to 4,500 psi you are going to have problems. That is why I never fil past 3,600 psi

Walmart is about $95 more than several other retailers are selling it for($389 on their site). The 4 year warranty is an additional $45. So if you get it from Walmart you have an additional $140 wrapped up in your purchase. Most of the issues with these pump are just replacing o-rings. I am not sure the additional $140 is worth it...

I paid $195 three years ago and I searched the web and the cheapest I found it was $295 shipped. I find that most warranties these days are scams. I guarantee that if you have it for three years like me and it breaks Walmart will find a way to charge you for the repair. I suggest you purchase one for $295 on Ebay and forget the warranty.
